Most difficult thing(s) to draw?

dynamic hand positions, perspective on human body parts, backgrounds that involve urbanized areas, guns, gadgets, vehicle designs... fight scenes that involve jiujitsu moves.

No love for cars, huh?
Ouch.
I would say, shadows or night time maybe a bridge or two.

People kissing, a vampire biting someone on the neck, perspective, over-detailed backgrounds, towns/cities (*shudder*), and profiles are still pretty hard....
There's probably something else. I'll add it later if I think of it.

it's men sometimes. Sometimes my men turn out looking like females without meaning to, or look very excessively femimine. sometimes people who view my pictures go "that's supposed to be a man?"
thankfully I've been improving on that.
other times it's gore, espeically if you don't know how to make some certain things look realstic or sort of realstic.

It has to be automobiles - especially cars. I'd say buildings are difficult but that's more a matter of I hate drawing them rather than I have trouble drawing them. My cars come out looking like they're made by Fisher-Price.
Shoes give me trouble too, though not as much. High-heels especially.

Enviroment shots always require the most effort from me. Which is why I force myself to do them.

Anything in high perspective, 2, 3, or 4 point. Bodies, buildings, vehicles, whatever.
I have a particularly hard time with cards and buildings myself. Urban & futuristic settings. Technology in general gives me a bit of a hard time. But again, usually because of the perspective in which I want it to be.
Ironically, my main comic uses all of these in abundance.

I designed a ship, and it's aboslutely awesome but it's a bitch to draw.
So naturally I decided to draw it a lot.

I'm trying to learn to draw at the moment, and my biggest problems come from perspective and legs. I don't know how legs bend. I just don't. I suspect anyone who looks at my art will imagine that I come from a small colony filled with people with one very short leg and one obsenely long and bendy one.

Perspective, especially figuring out how various types of objects mesh, and the human body.

Everything about the human body is a pain to draw! It's all a bit easier with refference though. Horses are a pian too. Infact all animal life is a pain. But I can't forget plant life either, trees are a nightmare!
Buildings and machines however are easy.

It's the reverse for me. I can't draw draw women well at ALL. :(

Yeah, I agree. Women are a pain.
I am a woman and I can't draw women.
Men are easy to draw, they're basically boxes (no offense intended, it's just a simpler shape) women are all curvy and weird and I can't make faces look femenine to save my life. (prolly because my face isn't too femenine...stupid giant nose  )

I do not know if I agree with the statement that it is easier to draw the opposite gender. I have always thought it easier to draw men than women. Even though I always had more interest in drawing women. I think that one factor is that often when you draw a woman, you are more or less expected to draw her good looking ( even if you get scolded because "you draw unrealistical women" - if you draw intentionally a bad looking woman you get even more verbal abuse - in my humble experience ) but you have less of that if you draw men. What is "handsome" is a broader definition than what is "beautiful", and ugly men are more accepted in a comic than ugly women.

I agree, Terroquita. You wouldn't know it by looking at TEO, but most of my female characters are basically the same as my male characters. Is that bad? That's bad, right?

TerroquitaG W Bush Jnr makes a terrible art critic.
"you draw unrealistical women".
Ian JayThat's one of the more realistic things about your style. Men and women aren't really as different as we like to think. That's also one of the areas where manga gets wrongly criticised and American comics don’t, funnily enough. :D
most of my female characters are basically the same as my male characters. Is that bad? That's bad, right?
-many times in a manga all characters look female, while in American comics most characters have extreme differences between men and women. I realise that's a generalisation, and neither approach is completely wrong, but making both sexes alike is a little more real than making them too different. That just speaks to the hormones more than anything else.

Ian: I don't think that it is a bad thing that your characters are not defined by gender only, I agree with ozoneocean that the difference is not so big as, for example, american mainstream comics suggest. Manga has in general less difference between the sexes, but I also think that asian men and women have less pronunced visual differences between the sexes in real life. Just as an example: beards are unusal in asian men and asian women tend to be slimmer and less volouptous than western women. Asian comic tend to press the mental differences between the sexes more than the physical - compaired to American or European comics that is...

Trees and landscapes are terrible things for me to draw. It drives me nuts, since I like to use backgrounds, but half the time they are so hard to draw! That, and feet and ankles are pretty hard to get right when they're twisted or at wonky angles.
Technology and animals are hard too.
Basically I can only draw people.

As far as things I actually do draw, it has to be clothing. The looser it's supposed to be, the worse it looks. My characters look like they're wearing cardboard tubes with lines drawn on them.
