I just found out about this game a few weeks ago and I thought it sounded too ridiculous to be true until I found this trailer on youtube:



I think it'll be really bizarre having Superman face off against guys like Scorpion and Sub-Zero etc.

What're your thoughts on it?

i'm still wondering why they would come up with dc. what's wrong with mortal kombat vs. street fighter? that makes a lot more sense, i think.

Capcom doesn't want to taint their franchise. DC already has a string of bad games, what's one more fighter that plays like garbage?

I thought for a while that Street Fighter vs. Mortal Kombat would be cool, but I realized that MK plays a little too differently for them to mix properly and fairly. It's not like the SNK characters, who function a lot like the Street Fighters. Of course if a guy set things up in MUGEN well enough, they'd probably get the general idea of what it's like to pit Sub-Zero against Ryu.

I also just heard of how the DC characters have "brutalaties" instead of fatalities, which are like dumbed-down fatalaties..but I'm gonna double-check to see though.

Well, the DC Heroes (the ones who wouldn't kill anyone, at least) do "Brutalities", but the villains will have traditional Fatalities.

There were concerns about that with DC involved. People made assumptions, but the developers clarified and said that there would be fatalities, but the gore would be severely toned down from previous games to keep the T rating. They also said there would be more emphasis on what the characters do before delivering the killing strike.

I feel like a game needs to stand on its gameplay principles anyway, and superfluous blood and gore can only take a game so far. That's why I always chose Street Fighter over Mortal Kombat growing up. If MKvsDC is any good at all, it will be because it plays well and the game is actually fun to play.

I've been keeping up with some info on this game and I think that it will actually be good as long as they don't over do superman to much and they make batman the bad ass he should be.

I totally agree with you.
As long as they keep the characters from both DC/Mortal Combat at the same general level, then I think the game might turn out decent.
