hey, i'm in a brain slump so i'd thought i'd do nanowrimo [nanowrimo.org] this year. Is there anybody else who is planning to write a novel in a month thing. This is my first time. I figure i'll do my writing in the hour and half to two that i use up while waiting for public transportation when i go to work. And on my sundays off. but it's a challenge. So i wonder if there's anyone else here who's doing it and we can share the pain. Anybody else who's done it, maybe? and can give tips?

This is going to be my first year trying, too. ;) Hooray for another excuse to put off making comic pages.

This sounds like a lot of fun, but a LOT more work. Heck, I couldn't even stick with drawing Halloween Sketches for a month, let alone a whole novel?!
I may try doing my own version of this when my life isn't so hectic.

Ugh. I've yet to do nanowrimo, but I know plenty of people who have. The biggest tip I can give is to not edit anything, no matter how stupid it looks or sounds. The goal of nanowrimo is to get those ideas and words onto paper or digital media - in raw form.
I might try, but I forgot that you're supposed to spend October planning out your novel. ^^; and I always get too caught up in the promise of Halloween. (I still plan on trick-or-treating, even though I'm almost 21 and have no costume to speak of, nor any money to buy a costume)

I'm not a real quick writer, so I'd never have a whole novel out in a month.

I dont think i'll get to the 50,000 words in a month. what i'm hoping to do is to break the two/three page barrier. my creative writing training is in short stories where you analyse and agonize over every single word and its' possible connotations to the blah degree. if i just crunch thru the amount of the words in november and focus on doing just that, maybe just maybe i can end up with a rough draft of a novel. at least that's the game plan

I'm doing NaNo! This is my second year. Currently I'm a little bit behind, but I fully intend to catch up and win a second time.

I'd love to do this. I really would. But I'm already working on Equinox (a series of 9 novels, AND a webcomic version). I could always write a small side novel for fun for this though. I'll try to think up some ideas or something.
