This last weekend I finally bagged a Wii... the occasion was Metroid Prime 3. I had always told myself that I'd get the Wii when there was a game for it I really wanted to play. Prime 3's reviews have been pretty good so far, so I went for it. I'm not incredibly far into the game yet, but I'm REALLY impressed with it so far.
The controls were the most questionable part before I played, but now having tried it I can definitely say they work. It only took a few minutes of getting used to before I could play it properly. The cool thing? You don't master the controls right away. I'm still getting better and improving my aim. It's kind of like a light gun game, which I love.
One of the biggest departures from the Metroid series comes from actually interacting with a lot of characters. I'm so used to being completely alone in a Metroid game, but so far I've made friends and worked together with other characters. The person hiring Samus for this mission does so in person, and with an actual voice. I like not being alone for this chapter (so far). Some may say it ruins the lonely atmosphere Metroid is known for, but I think it's a good change for once.
So far so good. I recommend this game to Wii owners and Metroid fans.
Anybody else get this game?

I did. It's probably the best Wii game ever. At least till Brawl, I mean.
One of the nice things about this game is that you can do a morthball jump, an ability unavailable in the previous games. The Space Pirates you see are awesome, it's too bad they're evil. :P

Yes I know that this game is retarded. It's also fun for some retarded reason.
This one is less retarded, but it's mostly just fun for the trolling

I have to wait almost another two months for this. Stupid European market delays (and it'll probably cost twice as much). The rest of the world will have 100%-ed this before I even get my hands on a copy. *sulks*
Naaaah, I'm used to it by now. XD
Really looking forward to it though. There's been nothing I want on Wii for a good long while. I haven't even used it in 4 months. XD

I'm detecting a pattern here.

Haha, yeah. There are a whole bunch I'm looking forward to (Symphonia sequel, HELL yes!) but there's nothing between Twilight Princess and Metroid. So that's nearly a year with no games I want. It's droughts like this that make me glad I missed out on so many great games over the last 2 generations, because it gives me something to do. XD

I was gonna say something snarky, but I'll keep the thread on topic and just say that Metroid Prime 3 is a generous pile of proof about how wrong you are about the Wii, Shplane.
Besides, you really need to just create a "Wii sucks" thread and keep it concentrated to there. Seeing your same comments leak all over the place gets a little old.

That reminds me of that analogy that George Harrison said about the Wii, the PS3, and Xbox360. The analogy stated that the Wii is a hybrid car while the Xbox360 and the PS3 are two big SUVs with "big new chrome rims." On the Wii console, the graphics don't make the game, the game play and how well the controller is integrated do.
For example, I thought the Scarface game on last gen system was okay. It was nothing I hadn't seen before. On the Wii, it was like playing a whole new game.
I'm wondering Hawk, how do you play the game?

How do I play Metroid Prime 3?
Well, unless there are other methods I don't know about, just the standard way, on the medium sensitivity setting. And I'm only about 3 hours into the game.

Does it bear any similarity to the DS Metroid Prime? Cause thats not bad for a DS game.
It's times like this I wish I had a Wii so I could be as excited as you guys by this 'brawl' you keep mentioning.

Please, please, you give me too little credit.

I'm playing Corruption on the most sensitive control setting, it's perfect, I just tend to have a slight problem with shifting out of the way of the sensor bar at times, but that's my fault and not the game's.
This is probably the most epic game I've played on a Nintendo console, and that's saying something considering how I love Majora's Mask and The Wind Waker.
Corruption's introductory missions alone really mkae things feel more intense all around.

It has the smooth, accurate aiming that Metroid Prime Hunters had but with the deeper and more detailed gameplay of the Gamecube Metroid titles. It lacks multiplayer, but that's never been a good reason to get a Metroid game. And like Hunters, it includes other bounty hunters in the game to make things not-so-lonely. MP3's hunters are a LOT cooler.
If you thought Metroid Prime Hunters was "not bad", Metroid Prime 3 is substantially better than "not bad".
