Hello everyone! I'm Mike Fish, and I'm "lucky number slevin" in the Top 50. I will be pitching my "Dark City meets Dawn of the Dead" project, RED RAIN, and I want to thank Platinum Studios for the great opportunity, as well as my artist extraordinaire, Emmanuel Xerx Javier. I work as a freelance graphic designer and have a day job that pays the bills and dilly dally in writing when I get home, but have yet to get published. I have another comic book I'm hoping to get cemented onto lamenated paper (I know, "How?" right? It's cement! Get it? "cemented" awww shucks) Dry humor aside, I worked in Hollywood for a stint in various areas and wrote spec scripts for tv shows Smallville and Lost, and was a semifinalist with those in other contests. (And no, they weren't on television and it wasn't for the networks, but my Smallville script did have Wally West in it! That's gotta count for somethin! ZOOM!)

There's some great talent here, and I'm honored to stand alongside you all in this contest.

See you in San Diego, and good luck to everyone!

Wow, what a great variety of stories and styles in this group. It's definitely an honor to be in the Top 50 with all of you, and I'm especially happy that everyone seems to be so supportive of their fellow contestants.

My brother David and I used to draw comics together as kids, but this is the first time we've gotten a chance to work together as adults. So, for us, this contest is kind of like a childhood dream and a family reunion all in one. (Sorry if that sounds sappy, but I guess I'm a sappy guy.)

Can't wait to meet everyone. Best of luck.

Do you have a link to your pitch? It has been very nice to see all of the competition that is out there. See you in San Diego.

Wahoo! The Comic Book Challenge is on again. My name is Mike W and I live in College Point, New York, which is in Queens. This is my second year in The Comic Book Challenge and I'm very grateful for another shot. It's looks like there is some good stuff in this here contest so I hope I can hold my ground. My comic book is called A Ninja Named Stan which is drawn by the wonderful and talented Delia Gable. We've set up a beta website for the book at http://aninjanamedstan.com . Check it out and see what you think. I'm gonna take a mintue now and throw out a cheap plug for my webcomic. It's called Angel Ninja vs. Devil Ninja and we've had a home here at the duck for a while. Check it out at http://www.drunkduck.com/Angel_Ninja_vs_Devil_Ninja/ .

San Diego is wicked fun and we get to have a party this year so I bet it's gonna be bitchin'! Maybe after the contest we can pair off and work on new comic book projects together. Remember to get some sleep!

I'm araid I'm not going to be any help to anyone with regards to accommodations. However, my girlfriend and I are landing in LA from Toronto at around 8pm on the 24th, and -- rather than wait eight hours for a stupid connecting flight to San Diego -- we are considering renting a car to drive there instead. If we end up doing this, we will probably have room for at least one or two other passengers, provided they don't have too much luggage (we are packing for a week's vacation). So if there's anyone out there who thinks they might need a ride from LA to San Diego on the evening of the 24th, feel free to let me know. My email address is terry@MeTheHead.com, if you want to contact me directly.

Hi y'all! I'm Crystal Murphy you won't see my name on the list of the top 50 but you'll notice my writer's name Joe Grahn. We're both poor and broke and splitting the 595 for travel which means we're going to be even more poor and broke. We our entry is called Banana Barry but if you want check it out on drunkduck just click on the link Bananarama below. You might notice that the name is different and that's because we didn't find out that there was a 80's pop group called Bananarama. We can't wait to see everyone in San Diego.

Best of Luck to everyone!!!

See a guy in a banana suit.

I've been posting to CBR, Newsarama and other sites about the Comic Book Challenge. So if you'd like to have your project put up, post a link here. If you've already posted in in this forum, feel free to drop me a line when you update so I can pass it along. I figure the more people looking at our stuff, the better.

Hi y'all! I'm Crystal Murphy.

Crystal...very cool to see you're in the running. Your comic looks fantastic, I knew you were great since the INNOCENT pin-up you did months ago. This contest is going to be as much a meet&greet as anything else. It's going to be difficult brawling with so many talented people that I like.

Since I've had a few people congratulate me thinking it was Alien House that made the cut, I better get the word out about the pitch that actually got the nod. Folks...meet Earl.

Hey, folks. I'm the guy who gets to make suggestions to Crystal Murphy and then laugh with glee when I see what she ends up drawing and how much better she makes everything I write. I'm the Bananarama/Banana Barry team member who's officially in the contest...mainly because I beat Crystal in armwrestling. (And yes, I cheated.) I've gotta say that everyon'e stuff looks great. This should be a great trip.
I think I may post the pitch for Banana Barry here on our Drunk Duck site, but the long and short of it is that, believe it or not, wearing a banana suit can actually make your life worse and not better. Too redundant? I'll try to smooth it out by the 26th...

New pages up for Forgotten as well. This ones in color, as opposed to the previous B&W, so opinions on the change are more than welcome.

I have no idea what it's about but I'd definitely pick this up and investigate further if I saw it on a rack.
