Hey hey some interesting news here. You can see the news else where on sites such as onemanga.com, mangafox and others.

Here's the gist of it.

This blogger dude didn't like that sites with Google ads were on manga sites that had shota and loli comics. He written to several sponsor ad sites for those manga sites about it.

The result is the companies written to the manga sites and told them to get rid of ALL their mature mangas or they will be gone.
So what happened is now lots of content has been taken down from those sites.

What do you think of it?

I think there's still an element of media out there that considers 1 person to actually equate 100,000 silent people in agreement. That said, they can keep their loli and shota comics.

"You tell yourself to just
enjoy the process," he added. "That whether you succeed or fail, win or
lose, it will be fine. You pretend to be Zen. You adopt detachment, and
ironic humor, while secretly praying for a miracle."

makes sense. they probably make more revenue from the ads than they do catering to the tiny subsection of manga fans that will actually pay for those things over simply torrenting it.

seriously, i've said it a million times. cartoon porn is not a major industry in the US and never will be.

If I was going to say anything a million times, it'd probably be that. It sounds like a cool song lyric, plus it has "cartoon" and "porn" in it! ^__^

-------------
I don't even know what "shota" means (don't want to either), and I only worked out the other day that "Loli" means "lolita". I always thought it meant "lolly" like it "lollypop" lol!

Anyway, El-Cid's right, it's just a TOS thing.

You'd have to rework it a bit to be a song lyric. Something like . . .

In the U.S. of A.
I just gotta say,
Cartoon porn is not a major in-dus-treee
and odds are it probably never will beeee!

Dreams are the stepping stones to success.

in the comic porn industry.
Read this comic. It is the greatest journal comic ever written and drawn. Trust me.

I would like to have any proof that this statement is true, because from other sources I heard only that they're blocking manture titles until they will check out and remove all those containing loli and shota.

EDIT: And I checked it even, Bokurano is still on onemanga and you can read it.

Aww that's just kids and a robot.. They are cool with violence just can't have sex.

I read that they will start a new hosting site that will have the mature comics.

Hey you know....
If google doesn't allow that kind of stuff and Drunk Duck, Smack Jeeves, and ComicGen has mature content... (Much more iffy with SJ tons of yaoi...)

Would our mature comics be in danger of losing free hosting?

As I understand it the problem was that the hosts couldn't get money from their advertising service (Google) if they have content that contravenes Google's guidelines.

Drunk Duck uses a different advertising service and probably Smack Jeeves as well, so it's not an issue.

That said, showing under-age human characters having sex is against our TOS anyway.

I think we need to draw the line here. There are mature comics/manga and there's porn or hentai, if you wish). I would preffer us all to be brave and call it by what it is, "mature" term can be confusing with comics, that aren't for kids for other reasons than being about people fucking each other.
I must say, that changes a lot - I didn't even know that onemanga has porn titles on their servers and I don't believe somebody was actually reading it there. There are many hentai sites when people still can read those titles (I can name at last two) and it's much better than if international law would ban them or something.

it's not even just porn, they're taking down overly violent stuff too. onemanga took down deadman wonderland which makes no sense at all.

And I miss Domina no Do...it was the most hilarious sexual situation filled manga ever.

Heh, I think even as furries they'd have to be furries allll the way, you know: walking on four legs, living in burrows and ditches etc. Proper animals, not humans with fur lol!

Where might this comic be located?
I just need to know where not to look, of course.
Because I wouldn't want to mistype and go there by mistake.

STOP JUDGING ME!!!

Seriously though, avoiding drawing children being raped seems a reasonably easy guideline to stick too! I cant imagine that many people struggle to work around that rule.

It is like when you are a small child and mother tells you not to put your hand on the very hot pot handle. For some stupid ass reason the little kid always does it the second the mother is reading "First" magazine and chilling with her ice tea.
The little comic artist freaks out when she/or he can has a privilege taken always that initially they never cared about or noticed existed. Now that there is a big "NO YOU CAN'T DO THIS" suddenly the 10 year old in their comic (who is actually a 900 year old alien princess) must do 'it' and do 'it' NAOW.

Do NOT read Harkovast!

It's more than that. It can also be interpreted as...

-You can't have a comic containing any nudity of a character under the age of 18.
-You can't have a character under 18 in a sexual looking outfit or pose.
-You can't have a character under the age of 18 seeing nudity or in a situation that could be sexual (even if sex doesn't happen).

If this were added to the definition than many comics here could fall into that category. That's why banning drawings can be a problem. The line isn't clear.

Even with that interpretation I still think that sounds reasonably reasonable. :)

But, I can see where you may have some shades of grey:
1. -Mothers and fathers changing a baby's nappy/diaper (whatever the word you use). That would involve some nudity of a child under 18.- also with bathing the baby.

2.- I can see where a lot of Magical Girl comics could get in trouble with the sexual pose and sexy outfit thing. And those stories are mostly meant for younger girls anyway.

3. -This "kid seeing nudity" thing shouldn't generally be a problem, unless you have the kids looking at a nudy magazine, or you want to do a more serious comic that directly confronts issues about growing up etc.

Hm. Not really news to me seeing as how I read an article five months ago about rule34.paheal doing something similar. Whatever happened to the first amendment?? :)
They started doing to this some of the manga in japan. I bet France wouldn't have a problem with it though seeing as how sexuality is not so much as a taboo as it is here.

*Hops on a plane to France*

How the fourteenth (because it's print) amendment works:
The fourteenth amendment protects the citizen, I.E the person running the newspaper, magazine, comic etc. From the government banning or obstructing that citizens right to freedom of the press. Like the state could not tell you to stop publishing your magazine because it was super violent or because everyone in your state is a vegetarian and it features meats.
It however does not protect that same person from being shut down by their publisher, say the magazine/newspaper/whatever was run by random house if they stopped printing it because they did not like the content in your book; they have every right to do so. Or say if every single one of your advertising sponsors decided to stop running ads in your publication because they did not agree with the content they have every right to do so.
So to finish, the law protects you from the government shutting down your paper, but that doesn't mean you can't b shut down by your publisher, company head, or advertisers if they find that they no longer agree with your subject matter or if they find your subject matter is now hurting their company more than helping it.

To learn more about your government, crack open a book, or take a class. I am not trying to be a jerk I am actually just suggesting education as a good investment.
