I've heard suggestions like Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio and even *shudders* Robert Pattinson. But! I think a good choice would be James Marsden, who has a lovely voice and is, in my opinion, a pretty good actor. There's even a clip of him singing Sinatra's "Witchcraft".

Depp and DiCaprio are always rumored to be in the running for the lead role in so many movies, I would take that with a grain of salt.
Also Depp would play a terrible Sinatra. DiCaprio might be alright, depends on how old he would play him.

I heard somewhere that Jake Gyllenhaal was playing him, but I doubt it. He looks too much like a 12 year old boy.

Christian Bale. Duh.
Or Danny McBride. It's shocking how many movies he's been in over the past two years.

Norm MacDonald. I could've sworn he had played Sinatra in a few SNL skits.

lastcallNorm is a bit big though... I remember Sinatra as being a little on the smaller side. Besides, wasn't it Phill Hartman in SNL? ...poor Phill. :(

I do like Norm though.

I'm sure there's a no-name non-star out there somewhere who would be perfect for the role. We need to wean ourselves off of this star obsession.

Oh yeah, it was Phil Hartman, wasn't it? My bad. I saw Norm on Conan O'Brien a few weeks ago and he was coked out of his mind. It was funny to watch. I just think of Norm as Sinatra because they have that same face. Kinda.

I know it would never happen, but I'd vastly prefer some impersonator who really lives that sort of thing. I love Frank's work and I really wouldn't want to see a homogenized popular actor put into the lead. I mean, you can sing Sinatra and then you can SING Sinatra.
I like Depp, but not for this. Although they could be casting for Teletubbies and someone would name drop DiCaprio or Depp. Sometimes I want to say, "...there's other actors out there, you know."

"You tell yourself to just
enjoy the process," he added. "That whether you succeed or fail, win or
lose, it will be fine. You pretend to be Zen. You adopt detachment, and
ironic humor, while secretly praying for a miracle."
