Never heard of them. Do you have a link to a website or something, just to see if we've heard of any of their other works?

From memory, they launched with a big fanfare here in the UK just a couple of years ago, claiming to be the new company that "has Marvel worried"! A lot of hyperbole in there, no doubt, but it certainly says something about their ambition!
They've had a presence at various UK expos since then and, from what I've seen of their output, it's high quality stuff - stiff covers, glossy interiors, very slick pro-quality artwork (although the colouring is a little too shiny and "obviously digital" for my tastes). Subject matter tends to be fantasy-oriented but there's a lot of variety within that broad generalisation. Speaking as a customer, their product looks good!
Not had any dealings with the company itself so the only thoughts I can offer on that is to say, as with any company, read your contract carefully! If you're working with your own creations, make sure you understand and are happy with the rights you're giving up. As this is a relatively new company, what would happen to those rights if the company folded or someone else bought it out? If you're signing a work-for-hire agreement, make sure it specifies when you're due to be paid, so you don't find you're still obliged to carry on working on future issues when they haven't paid you for the last. I'm not saying they would do that but, again, you just need to be aware it's a new(-ish) company.
In any event, good luck - it sounds like an exciting opportunity!

A WW2 fighter pilot, a First Century warrior queen and a prehistoric shaman. Oh, and their tailor. These are not your common-or-garden heroes! [..]

Research, research, research! Google them, and see if there are articles on their dealings, how they operate, and if there are any discussions on their contracts. Review your own carefully, and if you're not sure, consult a lawyer who can read through all the legal jargon. A lot of creators have been burned (badly) by enthusiastic, ambitious young comic companies before, so you want to go in knowing exactly what and who you're dealing with. Hell, find out what books they've published and who worked with them in the past, and contact those creators to get feedback on what it was like to work with that company.
Go read Pixel.

thanks for your comments. I've been reading the contract slowly over the past few days. I'll see if I can contact any past creators

You might want to check Digitalwebbing.com and do a 'search' there. There have been a couple of threads like this there in the past.
The former PR for Markosia used to post there regularly named Tony Lee.
I was working with an artist on a submission before he got hired to do some pages for them. We ended up going our separate ways so I'm not sure how he perceives the company. His name is Ryan Stegman.
Hopefully that'll help you some.
