This game is probably going to get an AO rating.

See the thing is that im going to buy this game the day it comes out or that week it comes out but, its like i have a feeling ebgames will have the game sold out if so ill wait till they get more in stock.

If they dont get more in stock ill just not look for the game and wait till the pricing declines on it i know it could be banned in the u.s. but if it gets banned like that following month ill try purchasing it its just a MA or AO game that i need to add to my collection as a rare game to own.

I don't see why they're banning it. Loads of other games encourage killing and they weren't banned, so why should this one? Not that I'm going to get it, it'll make me kill people.

So I hear this game is all about killing other ppl in the most gruesome fashions.

Maybe there's a bonus level where you have to kill as many Bushes in Barney costumes as you can in under 5 minutes, using a wax statue of a dead/dissected Paris Hilton as your bludgeoning tool. I'd buy that for a dollar.

I am so glad Manhunt II is coming out for the Wii. It shows the Wii isn't just for kids.

Anyway, Manhunt looks good.

The inevitable has happened: Take-Two just issued a statement explaining the upcoming release of the currently AO-rated Manhunt 2 has been officially suspended. Originally scheduled for a July 10 release, Take-Two is reviewing its options following the UK ban earlier this week and the death sentence cast down by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board.

"We continue to stand behind this ordinary game," the publisher said in a statement, according to Reuters. "We believe in freedom of creative expression, as well as responsible marketing, both of which are essential to our business of making great entertainment."

Not only will major retailers such as Wal-Mart refuse to carry an AO-rated game, Nintendo and Sony have said they will not allow such a game to be manufactured for their consoles.

Nintendo refusing to release doesn't surprise me, but I wasn't expecting Sony to come out against it.

Sony did take action against BMX XXX so it wasn't that surprising.

Though, what's the point of the AO rating if everyone is so scared of it? If a game gets an Adults Only rating, that means the major retail stores will not sell it. Now with Sony and Nintendo saying they don't support any sort of AO games on their systems, what's the point of that rating if the game is technically, indirectly, banned in America?

Well, Xbox and PC games also run by the ESRB board, so it's possible to create an AO game and have it still come to the market. Rockstar ironically planned their game only for platforms on which AO games can't be published.

I imagine they'll edit the game a bit and eventually release it on the intended platforms, and maybe someday make an unedited version for the Xbox360 or PC.
