if you grew up in the mid 90's you might have caught a time when TV wasn't filled with reality TV, but actual stories.

M.A.N.T.I.S. is a TV series that aired for one season on the FOX Network between August 1994 and March 1995. (Two unaired episodes were broadcast as part of a Sci-Fi Channel marathon in September 1997.) The original two-hour TV pilot was produced by Sam Raimi and developed by Sam Hamm. It starred actor Carl Lumbly. The show was unique, inasmuch as it depicted an African-American superhero.

I remember that show! I liked it alot at the time then those bastards at fox canceled it, just like the Adventures of Brisco County Jr. They will truely burn in hell.

FOX has killed a lot of wonderful things. Some of them I'm still pretty sore about.

I do remember MANTIS. But I don't think I saw enough to get hooked. I remember he wouldn't use guns because guns are what crippled him in the first place. Some of it was kind of neat, but other parts made it feel like a cheap alternative to Batman.

i liked the pilot's costume with the suit and tie.

one of batman's feature is his physical ability...the mantis is handicapped.
