Well now we (sorta) know where that four-toed statue came from.... ;)
I wonder who Horace's son is? Someone important, I bet...
Lostpedia now has a theory that Horace and Olivia are cover identities for Gerald and Karen DeGroot (with actors "playing" them in the orientation videos to avoid detection). Horace also mentioned to Sawyer that he was "clearly not DHARMA material."
Another theory indicates that Horace is actually Jacob. Horace was the one who built the cabin, and their silhouettes are similar.

two reasons against horace being jacob
One, different eye color.
Two, Richard knew of Jacob in the 50s, Horace wasn't there.

Good point.
@Midge: I was wondering that too. But they made a point of showing that ankh necklace he was wearing...

What about: TIME TRAVEL!!!
I'm just saying it's possible, though it wouldn't make any sense since Richard and Horace are enemies, unless after Horace dies he went back in time and made friends with Rupert (which is just crazy). As for Horace's son - can't be Locke or Ben. I would say Jack but I think he's too old for that.

um... why did they need that guys body?
I think it was to take it back to Richard's people and say, "Here's the guy the killed our men. He has been punished."

Heh, yeah. And I wonder how Sun and Frank will get back to the 70s? Christian said they "had a long journey ahead of them." Weird.

I enjoyed the time travel conversation between Hurley and Miles in last night's episode, Whatever Happened, Happened. They both had valid and interesting points.
And James has gone soft on us... I miss the Sawyer that would read with non-prescription glasses and stash guns in the island.

I miss Jerk Sawyer, too. Now we have Sissy LeFleur who, while a more mature and complete person, isn't near as entertaining.

I kind of like the character growth of Sawyer. But of course, it probably means his character has reached the end of his arc and will get killed, right?
I have really been enjoying all the time traveling of this season, but I do have a couple of bones to pick about the last two episodes...
1. Sayid is a professional hitman, killing dozens of people across many continents in the last three years alone (not to mention his former military training and career)... but he can't definitively kill an unarmed 12 year old? He can't shoot him several times, or at least in the head? Oh, just one shot to the chest and leave him there on the road, that's a reeeeal good way to kill a kid on a freaky island. I hope the writers will explain this later.
2. When Jack asks Kate where Aaron is a few episodes ago, she basically said "I can't say and don't ever ask me again" in a very cryptic way, like it's something horrible. But now we find out the answer is, "he's with his grandmother." *That's* the dark secret she just couldn't bear to say?
But other than these points, I've really been enjoying this season.

Agreed. And I noticed they've been holding back on the episode "cliffhanger endings" lately.

In response to Sayid shooting Ben. Maybe the fact that he was shooting a kid messed his aim?

Obviously he was distraught for shooting a kid and I guess the reason for not finishing him off was that he developed a relationship with him. Regardless, he was still Ben, so he shot 'em.

Yeah, it really is a return to form for the show. They're not so focused on which couples will hook up, and they're just telling the story and giving us actual answers. It's nice.
And it was also nice to see Alex again. I wish she kicked Ben in the groin, though. He deserved it.

Well at least we know now where the smoke monster comes from, and that it's been around since the whole Egyptian thing.
But I still want to know what it IS.
And at the end, they threw in a whole other mystery. What's in the giant metal box? What's the deal with the riddle? Interesting...

I was hoping that Ben had killed Penelope and got nearly killed by Desmond but they turned into "lets show Ben isn't all that bad" moment.
I just don't follow the whole judgement thing.
How come Echo was judged so harshly in comparison to all that Ben has done?
And wasn't Locke earlier in the series going to be judged and killed by the smoke monster when he was being dragged down the vent?
I wonder if the smoke monster has PMS.

The actor wanted more money so he was judged for greed.

He was my favorite character ever since Desmond found Penny... but it was an amazing episode with a shocking ending. Never manages to disappoint.

You figure he's really dead? If so they're not just killing a good character, they're doing it a pretty danged senseless way... though it wouldn't be the first senseless death in the show.
As a matter of fact, I'm straining to think of a person in the show who didn't die senselessly...
Charlie - drowned in an underwater station where a pocket of air CLEARLY would have kept him alive, and even if it didn't there was enough time to escape.
Eko - "Judged" by the smoke monster. His death was pointless.
Ana-Lucia - happened to be the girl guarding Ben Linus when Michael busted him loose.
Libby - happened to be with Ana-Lucia and was shot by accident.
Charlotte - mysteriously killed to death by time-travel plot device.
Tom - Shot to death as he was peacefully surrendering.
Rousseau - killed because she was of no use to Keamy.
Karl - killed because he was of no use to Keamy.
Alex - Killed on a whim by Keamy, against Whidmore's orders. Ben STILL didn't surrender.
Nikki and Paulo - accidentatlly buried alive.
Shannon - accidentally shot by her boyfriend.
Ernst - blown up for comic relief.
Having looked through the cast, I guess Ethan, Goodwin, and Michael had purposeful and/or satisfying deaths. Maybe Boone too. I don't know. But the list of pointlessly killed characters is kind of long.

My predictions for the season finale:
I think that the upcoming nuclear explosion will phase Jack "out of time" and HE will become what we know in the present to be Jacob. (Jacob is Hebrew for Jack...) It seems a little too coincidental that Christian (Jack's father) and Claire (Jack's half-sister) have both appeared in the cabin in present-day. ...I think Locke is like Jack/Jacob's advisor, or "Richard Alpert", seeing as how the island speaks to Locke.
I also have a funny suspicion that the Sayid we see walking in the tunnels with Jack, Richard, and Eloise is, in fact, the smoke monster. Those temple tunnels are where Cerebrus/smoke monster hangs out, so it wouldn't be a surprise if he decided to take shape of someone that everyone unconditionally trusts. The Sayid in the tunnels was wearing all-black (a wardrobe choice the smoke monster seems to take with every character he takes the shape of), but I recall the Sayid outside the tunnels wearing grey.

Charlie, don't get me started.
Echo, the actor wanted out of the show, the writers had a limited time frame to get rid of him.
Ana-Lucia, I actually liked her and was surprised by her death.
Libby,...............still want to see her flash back.
Charlotte, most boring out of the three so I am not complaining.
Rousseau, WTF!?
Alex, eh it gave us more Ben so I am happy about that.
Now if they kill benard I will be pissed.
