Haha, people in the UK finally get a game before the US!

Anyway, LocoRoco is great. All the music is fantastic, and would be singable if it weren't all adorable nonsense words. The game itself is really stylistic and simple, but fun. Like Katamari!

See, the premise is, you're a planet. And you're in danger. So you need to get the LocoRoco's to help you. They're just little blobs though and can't do much, so you, as the planet, have to tilt around and bounce them to make them jump. When they eat a big flower they gain another 'part' and get bigger. If you hit them with lightning they break into their parts, if you earthquake them they all yell "Noi, noi!" and smoosh all back together. Mochi Mochis try to eat them and spikes will hurt them and you have to help roll, slip, slide, and bounce them around to fix things.

Also they sing with the songs. Sometimes you find a guy and you can break up and sing really loud to wake them up and get stuff.

There are snow levels where things are all icy and there are great swoopy slides. There's trees with branches that move around and throw you. You get swallowed by monsters (and pooped out at the end) and you have to navigate their teeth and things. Also there's tons of secret stuff to find in every level- but the levels themselves are never too difficult to finish, just tough to get to some exploratory parts.

Also you find friends. The pink one is French, the blue one is Italian, the red one is from Africa, and I dunno about the others, I haven't gotten them yet. They all have their own voice (even though they say nonsense words). So while the normal Locoroco says "mochi, mochi!" the Italian one says "MOOoochi, MOOoo chi!" What a show off. T_T

I played the demo for this game a while ago and got frustrated with it right away, the controls system (L/R buttons only) didn't work for me at the time. I bought it for my boyfriend last week though and really like it now. The game is so much fun just boinging around the environment. Sometimes they use their little nonsense words to alert you to secret areas to get to, etc.

Also there are mini games but they are really hard. The crane machine is TOO realistic, haha. You can collect moving parts to put inside your loco house and build a crazy locoroco machine you can send guys through. It's kind of hard to make them always go where you want though.

Loco Roco does look interesting. It sort of reminds me of a small indy game called Gish. PSP needs clever little games like this. It seems like it's quite well-suited to a handheld system.

I heard about it, and ever since that day. I've wanted to play it.

It should be out in the US by September. If you use your PSP's browser to go to the PSP Japan site (or something) you can download a demo level. Maybe you can download it off the website and put it on your memory stick.

It doesn't require the analog stick. You use the L/R shoulder buttons to move, and the O button to split up. X and square and stuff are used for menu navigation, but the only time the analog stick is used is in the loco roco house to move the parts around. So you won't be able to make loco roco houses. :( But the rest of the game is playable. There's 8 worlds with 8 levels each, or something like that. A lot of levels.

That sucks your analog stick broke. :/ There aren't going to be many PSP games that don't need it.

Later on today I might post some pictures I take from my game. :) It's hard to remember to take pictures because you're too busy going around the level though...
