ok, well I loved the game because of its story line and memorable characters. You can't forget Riku, Sora, and Kairi when you play the game. No way.
I just said a few random things that nobody may ever read, but I said it and it makes me feel better.

I played that game for a month and forgot all of the characters that weren't in disney movies. I couldn't tell you the name of the kid I played as, but I know Goofy and Donald did a shitty job of backing me up fighting shit.

It's SO true!!! Our partners sucked and couldn't fend off a fly... Oh, and the kid's name is Sora. It means sky in Japanese

the answer to your question about sora and riku's "relation" can only be answered by I, The Great Game Guru!

Originally the designers were gonna make Sora and Riku a gay couple, but disney didn't want there characters used if that was gonna be the case. So the designers slap in Miss Kairi, there, and made it "sound" like they were both in love with her.

This also explains her complete lack of anything useful in the entirety of both games.

Now the the Great Game Guru, must retire to meditate and focus his chi
