So did anyone else see this yet? I'd seen an advertisment on the internet, and it was magically sitting in my local blockbuster. So I got it.
It was very good! The 3d animation in paticular was impressive. I've really never seen it done in such an artistic way. The lighting, oh man.
My only gripe would be, of course, how the movie utterly refused to end. There was no ending! Not a single plot thread was resolved! Someone with more knowladge of these matters, please tell me there's more to this movie somewhere, or a sequel, or something.
I know the Japanese like their ambigious endings, but this was just too much.
Still! It was really pretty and well dubbed. Watch it!

Oddly enough, it's one of the first anime adaptations of an actual American comic book.

Really? That's pretty bizzare with all it takes place in tokyo and traditional kappa water demons attacking people. Huh.

I'm with Finbar here... It sounds like a CGI-heavy Japanese movie I have seen before, but I just can't pin the name down.

Okay, I found the name of the movie I was thinking of: Casshern . Maybe not the one you were talking about, though it pretty much meets the criteria in your first post.

Casshern was a live-action movie that came out about a year ago in Japan. There was also a Cassern OVA series in the early 90s.

Karas has a continuation XD That's probably why the cut the first movie so strangely. The second movie should be coming out, though I can't find an exact date. In any case, it was very enjoyable, and the animation was deinitely great :D
