Hey dudes! Fallout 3, man! If Bethesda didn't make Fallout 3, I would never have even heard of the franchise. But It is awesome, and I got to thinking, with DrunkDuck and my XBOX 360, I could make something for people to enjoy. I need an artist though, but I have a feeling that is going to be trouble, a friend already warned me about this.

But enough shameless advertising, time for the vote! Every... I don't know, but I will hold votes on things in Fallout 3(maybe even other stuff) like: Easiest to kill character, weakest robot, best big gun, weakest weapon, that good stuff. Which is the easiest character in Fallout 3 to pwn (y'know, kill, own, obliterate, destroy)? I held a vote on the Wikia, but not too many people voted, It was kinda lame... but I am re-doing the vote! Whichever type of creature wins ( If the genus has a specific character, please name It. Ex: If the creature Is Water Beggar, which of them is the weakest? Give a name!) will be featured in a award ceremony at my comic, A comic showing them win the award! And I wanted to make a trophy that looked cool, but I'm not sure If I have the skills to draw It, just got GIMP... Anyway!

You don't have to vote, you can just talk about Fallout 3, or help me! Seriously, I hope this thing with my requests for help Isn't too much, I just am not happy with how my first comic panel turned out... I need some help. Seriously! Chat! Vote! Have fun!

BLASPHEMER! Thou hast spoken ill of the Fallout series. To even suggest that you didn't know of the games before the third installment came out is unforgivable.

But otherwise, I'm glad that you know of them now. If you haven't tried out the prequels, then I recommend them. Bethesda did a great job capturing the look from the older games.
Those were my two cents.

Einar, sorry If I offended you dude! I just heard of Fallout 3 from a friend, and since It was from the company that produced Oblivion: The Elder Scrolls I thought, this could be cool B). I found something which was much more deep and interesting and, well, plain FUN than what I had before (sorry Oblivion, I have to move on! :( ). I've joined the Wikia for Fallout, and have been brushing up on the history of the Fallout series, AND I plan to buy the old games. They seem great, It's just I trust Bethesda, and the greatness of Fallout into this game got me interested. And now I am interested in the whole series. It's just Fallout 3 got a lot of publicity, so I heard of It first. I hope I cleared that up, I meant no Ill to the greatness of the Wastes! I have just stepped through the door of Vault 101, and have not yet discovered all the secrets the Waste holds.

I am in fact making a comic on the wasteland, but since the only Fallout game I own is the third, It will be on that. I do need help though, an artist is what I need. Though I probably won't get one, a friend already warned me about how difficult It would be to get an artist. I hope to capture the true beauty of the wastes, as the beauty does not lie on the outside, but in the people, and how they still find good faith in such terrible times. See? I got the stuff! Seriously, my writing is GOOD, my art is BAD. And the way I keep on advertising is also BAD, but I'm desperate for advice. Think of this as the wasteland survival guide (except I'm not Moria Brown, or a chick), I can do the writing, but not the difficult things B) . Wow... I really am shameless. And man, can I talk! That's New York for you, plus a little extra from my family :) . Alright, I'm out of steam, I leave you to whatever you are going to do on this thread. And consider this a warning, I never give a short answer. But I don't do It to be rude, I just have to put all my thoughts in. But I'm really sorry about this Behemoth-Sized post, but I also can't have just wasted my time writing this, so here ya go!

Oh, don't worry about it. I wasn't being that serious. You'll find out soon enough that most of us Drunk Duckers are pretty easy going.

Might as well warn you though that Bethesda did not make the older games. That honor belongs to Black Isle Studios. These guys launched some great titles like Fallout, Planescape Torment, Icewind Dale and Baldur's Gate. Eventually though, their empire crumbled but its staff moved on to found or join BioWare (Mass Effect), Obsidian Entertainment (Neverwinter Nights) and... Bethesda.

The older fallout games are over 10 years old now so it's... understandable that you haven't heard about them. It took a long time to acquire the rights for the Fallout franchise and thankfully, the boys at Bethesda were the types that had fond memories playing the original titles and wished to give the new game the respect it deserved.
Those were my two cents.

You may not need an artist, if you are playing on PC you can probably make a comic out of screenshots if you do a little planning, and perhaps if you want to check out some of the mods available.

Skoolmunkee, I still need an artist. I bought the computer version, but my laptop is a veteran of many battles and unfortunate happenings, many of which I will relate If you ask. The amount of spare memory left in my laptop is about the amount of love and poetic talent left in the common raider . Plus, the parts are not the type required or something, AND the cherry on the Bigtown Cake, I lost the damn thing huh!? .

I also mentioned before, in the beginning (not to be rude), that with DrunkDuck and my XBOX 360 I would make a comic; hence implying I have a XBOX 360 version. Plus I was looking for a more, inviting feel than screen shots B). But I'm just being mean now, thanks for trying to help. I appreciate you trying to help with suggestions, but I'm just in a bad spot right now, I really needed that rant :). Thank you, and I'm sorry If that was mean or something. I just need an artist, In all honesty I do,because on GIMP I have the skill of a Mad Brahmin high on Jet :dizzy: . I am a good artist with actual drawing, if given enough time. But on GIMP... It was not a happy result. Sorry, It's just after being so tired and then having a NEW symptom of disease, I don't feel good. But please, I made this thread for people to enjoy, don't let me get you down. Enjoy the thread! :)

I am a huge fan of fallout, I've played fallout 3 for about 70 hours and still haven't had enough. the thing I hate though is the limited number of quests, It would be cool if it had more quests.

the idea of a fallout webcomic is also pretty cool, you might want to buy a pc version of fallout just for that... make screenshots and then alter those?

Oh, sorry. :] I'm not sure why I got the idea you were using the PC version.

No worries, no one thinks you are being rude or need to apologize for anything.

If you're looking for an artist you might want to make a post specifically about that in the Networking forum? And this thread can be about the game.

Dude, I can relate to the 70 hour thing, but probably longer. That thing with the limited number of quests, don't worry, I won't limit myself to quests in the actual game; and thanks for the encouragement 8D ! Drawing over the screen shots is actually a good idea, but I can't use the PC version, if you want to know why look at my last rant :( . Thanks for the advice, but It is impossible for me to do. I already bought the PC version, $40, and It's lost. I'll tell you the full story later If you ask. But the main thing is, can't do PC. Thanks for the advice, but I made this thread to talk about the game, vote on stuff, and just talk about how sweet the game, and series itself, are. If you have advice, suggestions, OR have a recommendation for a artist (or are one yourself), then direct them to my Inbox. All other stuff related to F3 goes here. Alright, I need a break. Have fun, and thanks for the help! Have a blast, just make sure you had some Rad-X before starting lol! !

I've put almost 300 into the game, with 2 playthroughs (granted, with all the DLC added in too). There are a TON of quests, just not many main storyline quests. To find most of the quests you really need to explore everywhere and talk to everyone. If you don't want to do that, you can find a list of them all on the wikia for Fallout 3.

I'm excited that there are two new fallout games coming soon. I basically just want them to be exactly like Fallout 3. If Fallout 3 never ended I'd be happy.

Alright guys, I'm bored, and I'm not getting any messages in my in-box lately, so It's time for a vote! Actually, the vote has already been in action, It's just either no one noticed or no one cared, the same way no one cares about the water beggars :( . The vote for this week is: Which type of person is the easiest to kill? If you think raiders are the easiest to kill, then vote for Raiders. If you think there is a raider that is weaker than other raiders, a specific character, then name it! Say you vote for, oh I don't know, Andale residents >:) , you should name which of them is the weakest. Whichever human type, oh, almost forgot! No mutated types, we are talking the actual humans here, no feral ghouls, "normal" ghouls, super mutants or the like. Actual humans, like Dukov! He may not meet human standards, but he is one! Gob however, is not. He may be a good person, but Is not human.

Understand huh!? ? If you still don't understand, PQ me about It. Also, when I get an artist, In the comic, whoever wins the vote will receive a gold trophy that looks like a Waddle-Dee :) ; plus, a reward according to who It is 8D . This vote will be on for a week since I post this, and a week from now I will tally the votes and we will have our declared winner! So vote! Also, see how I put an incentive for someone to be the artist there? Genius! lol! Dammit! Now It won't work because I reviled my flawless plan! Aw man! I don't want to make a badly drawn comic! Oh well, unless someone will volunteer, I guess I will draw until then. NOTE: When I start drawing, that does not mean I still don't want an artist. You can still ask to help even when I am drawing for myself. Now If you excuse me Mr.Burke, I'm going to get you killed in a way that makes me look like a hero, since I only needed you for that map-marker and the Exp. from that speech challenge. Enjoy your last minutes sitting in a chair!

Ah, the Fallout-series is glorious, and 3 is not an exception.

I'm still refusing to use any FAQ's or sorts for 3 though. I want to find as much on my own as possible. So far I've managed to find all the bobbleheads and unique weapons in the main game and OA and The Pitt DLC's (I think).

Propably not very impressive, but seeing as I'm not much of a gamer, it's quite surprising how much time and effort I've put into it. That being said, I'm a little disappointed. They're fun and all, but WAAAYY too short. I cleared The Pitt and OA in like, 2 hours each.)

BTW, does anybody know if the New Vegas-thing is gonna be a DLC or an independent game?

New Vegas is meant to be its own game. It's being developed by the original Fallout company, or something. And Fallout 4 is being done by Bethesda. So hopefully there will be two fallout games in the near future. :]

If you are not sure you got all the unique weapons and stuff, check the Fallout Wikia, I'm a member there in fact! I've found It helps with the comic. Any lore, maps, or random facts you need, can be found on the Wikia with the greatest of ease! Yeah, I'm a great poet, right? But seriously, need to confirm that you did it right, or want to know if there is a way to go through Dr.Braun's simulation without being evil, check the Wikia. My user name there is "Megaton Mettaur", in case you cared. You probably don't :(.

Also guys, could anyone care to vote? Just put who you think deserves that title! Seriously, just put the name down on your post. No one really cares about the vote, do they? I bet you don't care about the BigTown residents either, do you?

Oh! Almost forgot! If you get bored, there is a secret in the game. Not really a secret, but fun. The Railgun. Wait, don't leave yet! That wasn't the secret. The thing is, If you set a person on fire, then nail their head to a wall with the railgun, it stays on fire forever. This makes a pretty awesome torch thing If you like. Go to the Super-Duper Mart, Burn a Raider, and quickly before the Scum-Bucket dies...nail his head to the wall! Do It to them all, they deserve it! Not really, but just look around you, they did worse, even to other raiders! Also, I got an idea for a forum game. *hint*, has to do with Fallout 3. If anyone Is interested, say so. Or I won't bother making it. Have Fun, and VOTE!

So much Power Armor...*sniff*...so much laser rifles...so many plasma weapons...It's, It's beautiful! I then blew up the clockwork president and his mechanical minions with a huge explosion! And to top It all off, I got Fawkes the Poet and kick-ass super-mutant to be a follower! He even said it would be an honor to follow me! Overall, Fallout 3 was fun and it was a good game, but it's terrible in comparison to Fallouts 1&2. Everything was dumbed down for example.

Charisma: Does pretty much nothing in fallout 3 except for speech. In fallout 2, for every two points of Charisma, you could have an extra follower.

Perception: Determined how accurate you are with guns, especially if you were a sniper. In order to use any firearms, you would need to have high perception as well as high agility.

Tag skills: The three skills you tagged at the beginning of the game were extremely vital. For every level, you would get bonus points on your tags so you had to choose them very carefully.

Traits were removed entirely. Traits would give you something, but at the same time, they would hurt you in some way. If you took on a trait, it would completely change how you would play the game.

First aid and doctor were removed and replaced with medicine.

Perks came at every level instead of every three or four levels in fallout 2 depending upon your traits.

Small guns is WAY too powerful. You can kill a super mutant Behemoth in one shot with the terrible shotgun.

WAY TOO MANY STIMPACKS. In fallout 2, stimpacks were incredibly expensive (400 dollars each), in fallout 3, you'll usually beat the game with a hundred in your inventory.

Karma: If you were evil and had high speech, you could talk your way out of fighting with raiders, however, you couldn't enter a town without everyone going hostile. In fallout 3, you can kill and eat everyone in town and they'll still let you back into the town after a few hours.

With 9 intelligence, all the bobbleheads and number of books, it is possible to make a perfect character with max everything. This right here makes it so you don't have to think as much about what you invest your points into as all characters will end up being the same in the end.

If you played fallout 2 right, you could essentially beat the game without killing a single thing. It was hard, but cool at the same time that you could build a character who was purely support (Doctor, first aid, and speech) and relied on your followers to fight when need be. In fallout three, almost all the skills are related to how well you could kill an enemy with X weapon. Not that there wasn't alot of combat skills in fallouts 1&2, it's just that there were more options and different ways to get around the same problem.

Also, they removed some of the best parts of the game including.

-You can no longer shoot people in the balls.
-You can't kill kids (You wanted to kill the Mayor of little lamplight so much, don't deny it :).
-You can't have sex (Which would also alter the ending you got someone pregnant or became pregnant yourself.)
-Morphine was changed to Med-X because they couldn't have real life drugs in a game (And at the same time, you can blow up a guy's head and then eat their body.)

And worse of all, they removed retard mode. In fallout 1 and 2, if your character had less than three intelligence, your character was mentally retarded and could only communicate with grunts. In addition, everyone would treat you like dirt. It was a unique situation that was never in any other game except for the fallout series, and they took it away.

I know I'm whiny right now, but it's just that Fallout 2 was such a good game in comparison. I don't feel that Bethesda did the series justice.

Alright, the list won't be completed now, but I will respond to what you thought were problems. One thing, how well do you think some of those things would transit to the XBOX, huh? Also, retard mode, there are characters we are supposed to think are good, nice, fair. How would we be able to look at them the same way if they treat us like dirt? Moria Brown, what if she made fun of you? She is supposed to be nice, like the Mom you never had, sorta. And If she treated you like dirt, well, that would kind of screw up that image. Also, the dialog, they would have to make a completely different version of the game on the same disc, for a retard game version. And Karma, how can you say good things and bad things if all you can do Is grunt? The game would be way to easy If you could enlist multiple followers. You could break the game.

Oh, and with the help of the wikia, hold on a moment. All praise the all-knowing and almighty wikia! Anyways, there is a thing where if your intelligence is 3 or lower, you are treated like a retard. Duuuh, I guess you should look stuff up before complaining about it! http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Dean_Dewey

I doubt that Moria Brown would treat the vault dweller like shit if the "Retard mode" was available in F3. But she would still treat him like a special person.

Imagine the first meeting:
Moria: (with an endearing tone) Hello there. What's your name?
You: Option 1: Hi nice lady. I'm "insert name". Option 2: "Picks nose". Option 3: Daddy told me I'm not suppose to talk to strangers. Etc.
(If you pick option 1) Moria: That's a neat name. Wow! What a cool costume. Are you playing dress up?
You: (various options, one of them being: ) We always dress like this in the vault.
Moria: (genuinely surprised) Wait. You're actually from the vault? (talking to herself) Huh. Maybe the inhabitants suffered radiation poising or were forced to practice inbreeding. (Addressing you again) Was your mommy also your sister?
You: (one option being) I don't have a mommy.
Moria: (Ignoring you again) Interesting. Maybe s/he's a result of a failed cloning experiment. I must note this down in the book I'm writing.
You: Books are boring.
Moria: What? No, no. Books can be really exiting... Well... they can be if you have something neat to write about. Say, I bet you're a brave boy/girl. Do you want to help me out with my book?
And so on...
Those were my two cents.

and i havent even played the expansions yet.

And my old laptop with the fallout collection had a mishap with the screen and my foot after it wiped all the work. Wouldnt charge (after the 5th time of getting it fixed) and refused to acknowledge virus software and just basically died. Also the hinges were broke and keys were missing and the wires were being frayed aswell.

I chose Micky because although all the water beggars are weak, Micky ALSO has a scripted death to count in.

Don't they all? All you have to do is say: "NO! YOU CAN'T HAVE ANY! MUAHAHAHAHAHA!"
Those were my two cents.

The scripted one I'm talking about is the mission in Springvale? I never refused them water, so I don't know If they die from despair. But even If they do, he has this extra death, so he is still the weakest. Anyone want to prove this wrong?

Well, basically all you have to do, in order to kill of the water beggars is to tell them to go get their own water. They'll be dead the next time you check on them, regardless of how many times you've given them water previously.

Also, there's this bug that occurs after you install the Broken Steel expansion where they die after you give them cleaned water. You see, if you go for the evil ending, all the clean water ends up being infected with a virus that kills people who were born in the wasteland, leaving only genetically pure people to inherit the world. Giving the beggars that type of water will kill them. Even if you picked the good ending, the game sometimes treats the water you give the water beggars as if it was infected.
Those were my two cents.

But that still affects ALL the water beggars! Micky still has an EXTRA scripted death, along with the scripted 'get your own water' death! That still doesn't prove the other water beggars equal or weaker than him.

So not sure when I'm going to make the script for the weakest award ceremony. Who knows? Oh yeah, when I get an artist, and see what that artist can do. Until then, If I try making it before, it will be very, very, slow.

Alright, maybe if someone can sucessfully make a list of all the people, yknow, NPC's that aren't ghouls, then we can have a revote. But before I post again, a little treat for all of you. We are born in the forum, and we die in the forum.

Megaton itself has a scripted death. :smug:

I always disliked blowing up Megaton though, just because getting into Tenpenny Tower involves more travel/loading. I did like how the atmosphere changed around that area if you blew it up, though. It was a nice touch, rather than just having a big crater.

Mettaur, I'm not sure many people realized you were trying to take a poll. Sometimes it's easier for people to be given a list of options and then they can vote from that list, or tell you an 'other'. Or a list of direct questions people can answer. It helps to format it like a list too, rather than a big paragraph, because it's easier to read lists that way. :]
