Joss Whedon, director/writer/conceiver of such shows as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly, Angel, and Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog and such movies as Titan AE, and Serenity, is going to have a new show on Fox called Dollhouse. It's starring Eliza Dushku. *drooldrool*
Any anticipations, thoughts, ideas or comments on this upcoming series? Does anyone think Joss may get shafted again by Fox? Or have they really changed like Joss reassures us they have?
I don't know if my heart can take another canceled show that should have aired to it's end. ;_;

From the article it sounds like Whedon is getting his run of things. I have to admit though, the premise sounds like one that needs plenty of TLC to not get convoluted/clunky/cheesy, but after Firefly, I think Whedon is up to it. And it has Reed Diamond in it, pure awesomness! (I'm a huge Homocide fan)

I'll watch it, even though I am 95% sure that it will be canceled by next year.

One would think that after all these years Whedon would learn that Fox is run by a bunch of idiots (Futurama, Firefly (Sob), and other shows) and would go to some other network. I see this as only getting one season.

actually since Firefly, the running staff of Fox has completely changed over. Joss has commented that he feels that things have definitely improved.
We'll see...

It premiered last night. It's interesting, but I think I'll need to see more episodes before I can form a decent opinion on it.
Anyone else see it?

...It's on FOX, right? Yeah, it's screwed.
I'm surprised Whedon didn't take it to the SciFi channel--they seem to pick up all his cancelled shows.
I wish he would do more webisodes like Dr. Horrible. :)

I hope it stays. It looks promising. I was very glad to hear Eliza Dushku finally starring in a show. I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner, she's awesome. I loved her as Faith in Buffy. I gotta get used to her not wearing leather and being a badass though. lol

The first episode was very good. I thought it touched on the topics it wanted to deal with very well. It hinted at enough history and side effects to suggest interesting character development.

I enjoyed the pilot episode. It didn't turn me into an immediate super fan like Buffy and Firefly did but it will bring me back next week. Its a very different show from what he usually does and I'm curious to see where it goes.

I watched the first episode. It was ok but I didn't really feel like it was anything that special. It seemed like a good concept but watching the first episode they really haven't tapped its potential. Hopefully they will and the show will get better and better.
