I bought Jim Henson's "The Storyteller" [en.wikipedia.org] for my husband as a Christmas gift. I remember it being at the end The Jim Henson Hour [en.wikipedia.org] in the late 80's.
If anyone needs a reason why Jim Henson was such a remarkable and gifted man, here's yet another reason. I miss him so much. ....Luckily, Brian Henson is keeping this company alive with Farscape webisodes and the Puppet Up! tour, among other things. :)

I've always wanted to see this one. I always loved Jim Henson's work, especially the Dark Crystal, and I really think it's sad that we don't have anyone with his talent anymore. Puppetry (or muppetry, whatever you prefer) is truly a lost art, with Jim Henson the only real master it ever had.

There have been a few others who have dne some good work with puppets. Granted some, like Lyle Conway, worked with Jim Henson, but there are others, like Rick Baker, who managed to make some impressive rigs and puppets without any prior connection with Jim Henson's Creature Shop.

That series was simply awesome.
The puppet work makes CGI look like baby stuff, it really does.

Amen, brotha.
Different show, but same company: I always liked Zaan's makeup on Farscape....whoever did her makeup did a fantastic job. Too bad she left the show, but I can understand how that blue paint could do a number to your skin.

Ah yes, The Storyteller. Great series; I really preferred the John Hurt season than the whatever that other guy was called.

Me too. ....And John Hurt is gonna be in the new Indy movie. ...as Abner, Marion's dad. Awesome.
Speaking of which, I'm gonna make a new thread for that....
