Is either topic interesting?

I'm thinking of starting a new comic and as a basic survery to test the waters, I want to see if any of you find a comic about transgenderism (don't make smartass comments about this one, please) or angelology ("the study of angels" so this would be something involving angels) interesting? I'm interested in starting a comic on either one, but don't really know where to start just yet. Thanks for any feedback!

I suspect you've probably cast your net too wide to get a definitive answer on this one. Yes, either subject could be interesting, but it very much depends on how they're handled, what the actual story is and what the characters are like over and above being angelic or transgendered(?).

If it was me, I'd combine the two. Angels (it has been argued) are asexual anyway, so the contrast between their "neutral" state and the mixed physical/mental/emotional state of a transgendered character could be a very interesting focal point.

I wrote a whole post, but when I read it, I didn't care for it. So I'll just say "Go for either one!" and good luck.

it drpends on how you want to run with them, comedy on the beenies could be funny, if you get a kinda ranma 1/2 thing going.

algels thing has kinda been done to death though, but if its new comedy id still probally read it.

on the other hand drama on both ive pemonise thai it would be heavy depressing emotional stuff that wouldent hold my attention.

none the less, shoot at the pot and lets`see what you got.

Not my thing, sorry. Both of those concepts are kind of done to death in media.

Misfile

...

Granted I haven't actually read it, but I do know that it's about some guy who gets turned into a woman by a clumsy angel.

Aaaanyway, I'm going to go ahead and recommend angels, since transgenderism tends to attract weird, creepy fans no matter how frankly it's written.

Both do sound interesting to me. A transgendered angelologist, perhaps?

I'd recomend the angel one, there's only so much you can do with transgenderism, but Angels can be anything you feel like doing.

I like the study of angels idea. Mixing science with myth/lore can be very fun. Like an academy that studies angels or angel sightings/proof. Or a teacher/professor who is visited by angels (or an angel himself/herself).

Wow! Okay guys, thanks! I think I'll work on narrowing it down and trying a few different ideas out, seeing how their first few panels look, then I'll go from there. Thanks for the ideas, many of them seem interesting; I'll work on them. I'm busy doing renovations for my grandmother, so I'll have to work at night on this, but that's when my better ideas come to me... :spin: :dizzy:

I just read that comic. Like, literally all 9000+ pages of it. It's good, actually.

Anyways, irt OP:

If you do one creature of the heavens you should do them all. I was going to do a comic set post-nuclear holocaust that would have been like the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. but infused with every piece of mythology I could get my hands on. As in, ifrits and djinni, trolls, goblins, vampires, angels, devils, and lots of other cool shit.

I suppose there's no harm in the other, though. I'd have to read it to say if I like it or not.

I'd argue that transgenderism is done more as a joke or a fetish, it's not really done as a serious topic very often at all. I've seen plenty of stories about angels though, and if you read a lot of Angel Sanctuary fanfics I'll bet you'd even find stories about trans angels but I think of that as pretty fringe stuff.

There are already quite a few transgender comics out there.

Of course, angels appear in a lot of webcomics, too.

I'm for the combining idea. I've yet to see transgender angels in a webcomic.

Hmmm...well I think both sound fun, but since you seem to be interested in only starting one at a time, I personally would like to see the Angel one first. Either way, good luck with the one you decide. :D
