I think they're called "web worms", or something.

We've had some issues with them recently, too. Ours is the variety with the little hairs.

I blame the rain for the sudden outbreak.

We actually had a mild case of those kinds of worms down where I live. Except they were fuzzy and when you killed them they oozed green blood. It was gross, but fortunately I think they went extinct where I live. I'll do some research on wikipedia to find out more about them.

Wow. I already have. I must be really bored. We have the same problem in the DFW metroplex right now, and they do ooze green blood. Not just kinda slimy, we're talkin' bright the color of that Midori drink. It's probably from the leaves they eat.

And, as I said, they're called "Webworms" and they're the larval form of a kind of moth.

Wow, lol. We used to have a lot of those out in the country where I used to live (we called them bag worms or tent worms, I'm sure that's not their actual name) but they just stuck to the trees. I've never seen them take over a house like that.
