Introduce your (furry) character!

Hello! (wag tail) (perk up ears)

I am a new silver fox, and I just want to see who else is out in the forest!
Tell me about your furry character! What animal is it? Does it walk upright? Does it have digitgrade legs, or plantigrade? Why did you choose your animal? Take time to introduce some background info so we know how your character plays into your strip.

Name of Character: Katie
Animal: Silver Fox
Walking Style: Upright on plantigrade legs
About the Strip: The strip is based and inspired by my real life, so my character is the anthropomorphic representation of me. She is the extrovert that I am not in my real life. Plus, she also doesn't mind having a pie thrown in her face!
Reason Behind Choosing Character: I love foxes!
Even if the majority agrees on a stupid idea, it is still a stupid idea!

I don't think there are any other furries that still post here. Except Revan, but I haven't seen him in ages.

Edit: oh yeah, and harkovast.
Hey buddy, you should be a Russian Cosmonaut, and here's why.

Pish tosh.
There are lots of anthro comicers around, but General Discussion is the wrong place for this.
I'll move it to Comic Discussion.

Name of Character: Moonbeam
Animal: pube cat
Walking Style: crawling around with those menacing claws
About the Strip: it's the only way she can make money to afford her hair removal operation, she doesn't like being a stripper and she spends many nights contemplating suicide by oncoming traffic
Reason Behind Choosing Character:

Moonbeam?

That's Felicia of Darkstalkers, but with "shaggy fur." I recognize that fur pattern anywhere.

Skullbie- that is wrong. So very wrong. Not quite dogs in diapers wrong, but still very wrong.
And now I've seen it, it will be with me forever, no matter how hard I try to get it out of my brain with a fork.

Custard Trout-And once again, I am back to the old "am I a furry/ what is a furry/ are you implying I hump animals?" question.
Alright technically yes my comic is about talking animal people. There? Ya happy?
You pushed and you pushed and the awful truth came out! I regret nothing!

Silverfox- I don't have one animal in particular that I identify with, as my comic goes on they run into all sorts of different creatures. None of them are based on me or a personification of myself.
I could tell you about one of the main characters if you want?

digitgrade legs, or plantigrade? What are these? I assume one is human legs and one is funny back-bendy cat legs but I have no clue which is which. Might be handy to know the proper name for this.

I use bleach. It tends to remove other memories as well, but it's worth it.

Digitrade = cat leg

Plantigrade = Human leg

No animal has "back-bending" legs. :)

It just looks that way when you don't realise where all the joints are. Almost all vertibrate animals have all the same leg joints; humans, horses, crocodiles, flamingos... Humans are the weird ones because most animals walk on their toes, and have a shorter thigh bone; their knees are usually tucked higher against or under the body.
Apes, bears a lot of reptiles etc. all have the same sorts of feet as us.
--------

Looks like Fursonas aren't popular here, I like Skulbie's joke one though, that's hilarious. ^_^

Belfry is the best forum I've seen for talking about furry matters.

What's so wrong about it? Felicia is a beautifully-designed character. She's the cat goddess of catgirls.
She beat out all the Thundercats to land a role in my comics.

I don't have one animal in particular that I identify with,

I identify with my avatar. He's my hero, and we smile the same way.

ocean, you are bringing my furry credentials into question!
You think I can draw as many cat legged people as I do without working out how the legs are structured?
I just said back bendy because (lacking the technical term) I could not think of another way to explain the difference without writing a big technical paragraph.

Though leading on from this...it does mean most of the people in Harkovast would be walking on tip toes if they were human.

I would come up with a hilariously ridiculous and outrageous Fursonna, but I am skating on thin ice to not be considered to have a weird furry fetish at the best of times, so if I suggest anything, you will all just assume it is a new character for my comic!
I had better play it safe and keep my head down.

Mlai - it is wrong because it is Moonbeam the pube cat.
It is a half cat freak that is covered in PUBES!
PUBES I TELLS YA!

Oh please, that was no innocent joke. It was mean-spirited, at best. If a joke can be mistaken for trolling, it's a joke that shouldn't be made.

Skool i honestly meant no menace, moonbeam was the oddest looking pic on google images for 'furry' so i made up a wacky fursona for her, the post was meant to get laughs not make anyone feel bad.

Talk about Dejavu Harkovast... perhaps i need lessons in fur-etiquette? -o-

Stop calling her Moonbeam! Okay look you fighting-game-illiterates...

This is Felicia the cat woman.

She basically looks like a stripper/ pole-dancer in a kinky cat costume. It doesn't even pretend to make her look like a cat. Yet, she is the most cat-like catgirl I've ever known. Like Catwoman (of Batman). That's why she is so awesome.

Those furries that have more animal-looking characters, yet those characters act completely lke modern humans... so lame... they're like fantasy softcore bestiality fetishes or something.

@ ABG:

I'll beware of short fat toadies...

Mlai, I think you've got things a bit mixed up, let me clarify for you.
Moonbeam is a completely original pube covered creation.
That character you showed, fleecy-girl or whatever, is quite obviously just a rip off of Moonbeam where they removed all the pubes and made her hair blue (for some strange reason).
Frankly, I think people who take a well loved creation like Moonbeam and turn her into some sort of sick, pubeless fetish figure have serious problems!

Poor Silver Fox...I don't think she's getting quite the response she expected... My favorite 'furry' wasn't even illustrated. Its C'Mell from the Science Fiction Book Norstrailia Series by Cordwainer Smith. The Ballad of C'Mell is one of the saddest short stories in Science-fiction ("Green Andalusian Slippers" was the saddest...)--and was pretty cutting edge as it delves into the issues we will eventually be facing with the possibility of cloning and Chimeras...

Anyway--I haven't a 'fursona' but my Familiar is a cat...

Alright that's it! I want a Fursona now!
So here is mine.
I was too lazy to draw him myself so I just nicked a picture off the internet.

I'm called Hubert P Ratwank!
(hides in mouse hole and looks for cheese)
I am not sure what the P stands for but other then that you get the idea.
SQUEAK!

Maybe I've been living under a rock for the past few years!

I should be more specific when I post a general question/survey/"tell-about-yourself-thingy"!

Oh well. You don't have to introduce a fursona. If you have a furry comic, just introduce the main character.

But thanks for all the responses!
Even if the majority agrees on a stupid idea, it is still a stupid idea!
