I'm only online because my workplace (a major cable company) was able to find alternate means to get online.

Your ISP might be on a different backbone or router that isn't impacted.

I also hear some people can do email but not webpages.

It's pretty bizarre.

When I wrote the subject line, I thought it was only an hour but the company I work for re-routed to another state to get internet back. Many others are still down.

Latest update: I just learned a fiber line in San Antonio got cut and that is the source of the problem. Still no ETA, although apparently some service is starting to be restored in some areas. So the worst may be over.

I was with my girlfriend all afternoon, so I didn't notice much.

But wow, I'm more amazed that there are actually more people from Texas on this board. It's nice to know there are people that won't go "You're talking wrong" when I say "ya'll" instead of "you all". That's really the only Texan stereotype that applies to me.

No internet for an hour? That would kill me.
