I'm considering putting banner ads on my forum. It has an absolute unique visitor count of about a thousand individuals a month. Daily, I get about 50 members log in. (though of course many of them also logged in the day before). There's about 600 members on the forum. I'm hoping to be increasing the guest count over the next few months.
Banner ads would be up for a month, and I'd have probably about 20 banner ads up at a time, randomly rotating through.

My forums is for writers, artists, musicians, actors, and other creative types. Also a looot of geeks. I'd have to be accepting/denying banner requests based on how well I think they'd fit in with the general theme of the forum.
I'd prefer to do this rather than GoogleAdsense, because my forum got banned from that because people got curious and clicked too many times apparently, so it's a liability. Besides, I'd prefer to be putting up stuff that's *really* relevant or interesting! That they can click on as many times as they want!

What do you think?
And... how much do you think a banner ad with me would be worth? I'm trying to figure out how much to charge for a month.

Only a thousand a month? I'd say 80cents at most. Look into something called 'project wonderful' and you can set it up hassle free there. On top of that people could see how many visitors you get and monitor how many click. But if you only get about 50 views a day....you should wait till it's more established before putting pesky ads everywhere.
