Alright, as most people know there are a heck of alot of crap, alright lets be fair, slightly lower grade sprite comics on this site that are in desperate need of help. So I am offering my services to those who need it, from simple things such as locating sprites for you to re-creating pages for you showing the problems before and the fixes after.

I am also more than happy to make tutorials for those who require them if I get multiple people asking for help with the same thing.

I think you would all agree alot of spriters need help on this site and ol' KevCliff can't answer every call can he?

Anyone else want to learn about clothing or combining sprites in various unusual ways?

98% of the sprites in my comic are hand-drawn, but...i could always stand to make room for improvement and could benefit from other's experience.

The problem of close-up shots being very pixelated and ugly has recently been discussed in the DD Review of American 007, which is said to be one of the better sprite comics, or one that actually tries to be good.

AFAIC, when you need a close-up sprite shot, what you should do is -

1. Take your intended sprite pose.
2. Increase image size. Now you have a pixelated blob. But you (the author) know what you're looking at.
3. Using the rough blow-up as a drawing template, modify it until it's less pixelated and presentable. It's easy because the template shows where every line/color should go. It's like tracing.

In fact this should be done with every sprite you use, so that you become free to use whatever camera shot you want without worrying about the sprite becoming confusing.

I will be posting a tut in my comic Chaos Emeralds Z on how to make a basic Sonic Character.

I just started mine about one week ago and I think I'm doing pretty well. Any feedback or critisism is welcome though, I'm always open for suggestions. Just hit the banner below this post, you'll figure it out from there.

I gotta say though, I haven't seen a lot of sprites yet. Basically the only one I've actually read is 8-Bit Theater, and besides that I may have layed eyes on one or two others. I'm well awar of the public opinion on sprites though, and I'm just kinda trying to contradict the fact that all sprites consist of Mega Man, Kirby or Sonic, and that sometimes they can have a halfway decent story.

But that's just me.

the mystical forest zone (link above) has some item sheets if you go into the SFX section within the sprite section.
