I know this may sound kind of different but...
Gettin' tired of doing the same thing again. I'm gonna stick with Left4Dead.

But RE 4 was a whole new ball game. The newer Resident Evil isn't the same ol thing. Oh well to each his own I suppose but you're breakin my heart man.

The demo was amazing and the online co-op was great. Me and my friend are getting it day 1. RE 4 had numerous potential for replayability so I'm pretty sure this will too.

I thought the demo was nice, too. But I REEEEAAAALLLY miss the Wii controls. Still, I'll buy the game when it comes out. I'm going to have to listen to reviews to find out whether I want the PS3 or 360 version.

I loved the edition of coop, the splitscreen especially really caught me by surprise! That alone is enough reason for me to rent it.
Though so far it doesn't seem like that much of a change from RE4. In fact the movement and turns feel slower to me...or maybe I just remember it being faster. I was also REALLY hoping they'd let you shoot and walk at the same time in RE5....but no dice. I guess that's the way the gameplay is supposed to be, but I still don't like it.
If the whole game is like this, I probably won't buy it. Other than the coop gameplay and a couple of little things it just seems like an RE4 clone with better graphics (and new story of course).
This is just my opinion though. As a whole I'm sure it'll be a good game and like RE4 it definitely keeps you on your toes, I just wish they'd change up more stuff.
Also, the whole "invasion of the bodysnatchers" thing is cool and all, but I miss my creepy walking dead people zombies....

There is supposed to be some different control scheme that is more like a newer action game (like a Gears of War if you will).... But I haven't tried this. Resident Evil 4 is my all time favorite game so I really don't care if 5 is all that different. If it's exactly the same with a new story I will still be extremely happy.

*sigh* I thought they would have maybe cleaned up the controls, but nope.
They still are terrible.
OH, and wasn't Resident Evil supposed to be a zombie game? T-virus or not, a headshots are supposed to kill things.
In this game, it does not.
Pistol shot to the face just makes em flinch. Most games (life Left4dead :D) kill them with headshot.
I mean, you can't even move when you aim, like the other games, so you have to get hit. Even if you have the supposed move while shooting thing on, you move extremely slow.
Without the awesome story Resident Evil would have died out years ago.
Either way, to me, a dissapointment :/

Wait, so this game will have single-console co-op? For the love of God please!
RE4 is my favorite and I wouldn't mind exactly more of the same. Though I agree with Hawk that I'll miss the Wii controls...they were the perfect mix of interactive and effective.

Yup. Split screen co-op is confirmed. You can do it in the demo

Look at this. How can you not want more of the same?!
Because I could just replay RE4?
Hey buddy, you should be a Russian Cosmonaut, and here's why.

How many sequels of great games can you name that aren't rehashes of the previous version?
What's different about Gears 2 or Halo 2? Nothing, new guns or a new gimmick like dual-wielding.
Isn't the fact that RE5 is in the same franchise as that slow-moving, fixed-camera zombiefest on PS1 enough of a radical change?

Funnily enough, I haven't played nor plan to play Gears 2 or Halo 2 either. Sequels are chances to tell a new story in the same world, a chance to expand on previously seen characters or places. This is hard to do, and thus, all we get are moronic cash ins.
Besides, the RE franchise has never actually been good.

But they can still survive a head shot?
Haven't played the demo, my sister and brother seemed to enjoy the coop. I thought the colours looked quite subdued compared to RE4 (and that was mainly greens and browns).
Shame resident evil isn't scary any more.
