Well I have two. But it won't last much longer. I prefer my issue 1-1 (girls story) the best but since the alien story technically comes first I need to finish it. The idea of having 2 comics didn't work very well for me and doesn't translate well as a dual issue on the net.

Artwise I prefer my alien one though. It is a visual feast and the armors look cool to me the way I color them. But I prefer the characters and story of the female issue. And it is much simpler and quicker to draw ^^

Once I wrap up the alien comic I'll delete the female one (if I can) and simply add it after the alien's story.

Read "The Devon Legacy".

I have three, two of which actually have effort put into them.

It's hard for me to choose which one I like better, actually. King Me! is fun and cute, with mild angst thrown in there. The art style used for it is different than Deus Ex Machina due to the more "shoujo" feel and an excessive amount of tones. Deus Ex Machina touches the angsty side of me, and also the more fantasy side of me, and has more of a plot to follow. King Me! is more character driven while Deus Ex Machina is more plot driven. Err... The other comic, Your Vanity, well I like the characters but there's not much to it yet.

Sometimes I think King Me! is better than DEM, but then other times I think DEM is better than King Me! The comments people make really fluctuate how I feel about them. At the moment, I think DEM is better than King Me!, but they're two totally different comics and it's really hard to compare them.

I guess each comic has it's perks in the end. D= I'm absolutely in love with one character from each comic though, which sort of makes it more difficult.

I have 2; Laughing Out Loud Zombies and Comic Name.

LOLZ is a real comic, it has consistant charaters, a story, and a regular update shceduel.

Comic Name makes no sense. Really, just check out ANY page on it and you'll want to hit your head with a hammer.

I'm keeping both, but Comic Name might update barely evr in the future.

I have three.

Early Game Monster is my baby right now. I did a single page as a joke but for whatever reason the idea caught on. I always wanted to make fun of bad Japanese RPG's and cliched fantasy stories but as a result I created a fantasy story that barely even uses the common fantasy cliches.

Children At Play is my one true love. It only exists as three pages in webcomic form, but I have 4 out of 8 comics written and drawn on paper... it's just a matter of inking it. I want to actually self-publish and distribute this series so it probably won't ever get on the web and I'll use EGM as a way to advertise (if it gets popular enough).

The Sunday Brunch Spectacular is just a random compilation of garbage... like a trash bin for rejected ideas... although I seriously want to continue and serialize "Little Witch" and "The Adventures of Menthol Man." There's something cool about a super hero who does nothing but smoke.

I have two:

http://www.drunkduck.com/Rocketship_A_GoGo
Rocketship A Go-Go is a daily strip, drawn in black and white. It's Sci-fi adventure with a light touch,

http://www.drunkduck.com/Ahoy_Kids_The_Adventures_of_Pirate_Mom/index.php
"Ahoy Kids: The Adventures of Pirate Mom" is a weekly strip and It's in color. It's pirate adventure with a little humor.

At the moment, Im scaling back my work on "Ahoy Kids!" to focus on "Rocketship A Go-Go." The truth is, Rocketship is just a lot more popular, both here on DD but also just on their own websites. I actually always thought that "Ahoy Kids" was going to be the more popular one.

But I'll get back to Ahoy Kids - Pirate Mom is a great character, and I really want to tell her story. I think a weekly strip is just not a good format for me.

The Planet Closest to Heaven
First comic. Had it for almost three years and still going.

Demon Eater One year old.

Which do you like better?
I think I like Planet better slightly because it's more developed than Demon Eater.

Artwise?
I like it that Demon Eater is easy to make pages for. I can make.. several pages in a few days.
TPCTH has art that I work harder at and it takes me longer to do. It sometimes frustrates me.

Storywise?
As I said before TPCTH has more development. It has more flow from one scene to another without skipping a large amount of time like DE tends to do.

Characterwise?

Saturno from DE is pretty cool. I know what happens to him in the later parts of the story which to me is more interesting than what s/he is now.
There are many more characters in TPCTH I like though compared to DE.
Overall?
I really don't know.

Which comic do you think is just better than the other one?
For the amount of effort put into it I would think TPCTH, but the whimsical art and unique story of DE seems to even it out.

Do ratings and hits make a difference if you like one of your comics more or not?
Not really. DE seems to be much more popular. I think it's because it updates more and the current plot seems more exciting than TPCTH.
Do you try different art or writing styles in your different webcomics? Different media?
I wanted the comics to look like they were done by different people. TPCTH is more mangaish with the black and white inked pages and big eyed faces. DE is slobbly watercolored charcoal over ballpoint pen monster drawings. So yes.

I have two that I'm currently updating -

20 Galaxies , which is my oldest and longest project. Most of my other projects have basis in 20G's universe, even if it's just the characters' hometowns.

The Many Misfortunes of Lady Luck , which is my newest project, and is heavily involved with the 20G universe. The two comics have some of the same characters, though the characters that appear in Lady Luck don't show up for a long time yet in 20G. Lady Luck will also probably run a fraction of the pages 20G will.

I can't say which I like better. 20G is the type of story I typically like to write - epic, with magic and mystery and fantastical elements, a lot of wonder and a fair amount of danger. Lady Luck has the fantastical elements 20G does, but it's a lot darker and more violent - very different than works I've done before. It started off in a different artstyle, too, but that one was taking too long to make a page with. It's sort of a fun experiment. It also helped clarify where exactly I wanted to take 20G -

Which do you like better?
Don't really have a favourite, but if I had to pick, despite the fact that it's a fan-comic, and is severely lagging in popularity, I'd probably lean towards Transformers X.

Artwise? Both are too different to compare.
Storywise? Well, one has a story, one doesn't...sooo....
Characterwise? One has a ton of characters, the other almost has one.

Which comic do you think is just better than the other one?
Critically speaking, Genie Man is probably consistently better and more accessable.

Do ratings and hits make a difference if you like one of your comics more or not?
Like I said at the beginning, Genie Man has huge ratings now, compared to the relatively obscure Transformers, so I guess not.

Do you try different art or writing styles in your different webcomics?

Yup. One's done in full 3D, the other in flat 2D, in Flash.

Different media?

3D program vs. Flash. Both entirely digital, though. If I ever replace one, or go insane and start a third, I'd go with hand-drawn, then scanned for inks and colours.

I had a lot of fun drawing this comic. Even reading it myself feels fun too. This comic shows some cute and funny moments and it actually appeals to many teens age 10 to 16. Although I'm almost going 30, I actually feel and think like a kid when I draw this comic.

http://www.drunkduck.com/Vampire_Overlords/
I haven't got the time to post the next page but I do absolutely love the story idea in my head. I've told a bit my stories to some few other people and they say it's pretty interesting. My aim of doing this comic is to draw something that is less stylistic manga and hopefully get it published. I got the inspiration of doing this comic after watching the Angel TV series.

http://www.drunkduck.com/Ghost_Hunters_Online_Manga/
This is antique comic done on 2001 onwards. I have no intention of continuing this comic further after the next chapter. It was initially planned for 2 chapters only but I ended up drawing a long series. I had this comic went on hiatus for 2 years due to lack of interest. The storyline and artstyle is amateur and some part of the story feels too serious and slow for my taste. Amusingly, there are quite a number of people actually like it.

Anything funny, I dump it here. They consists of comic strips in comic book layout.

Here There Be Robots : I just do the writing, which is why this one has amazing art. I leave the drawing to my much more talented brother. In my defence, I also created the characters and plot, so I can take some credit for the comic being funny.
This is by far my favorite project I've worked on/am working on.

Space Waffles : I do the art and the writing. Basically it is a way to get me back in to drawing, since I haven't done that for several years. It's fun so far, and it seems to crack Jeremy up, so that's good times.

I'm also doing that other comic "Space Waffles ".
We now have a podcast called The Random Pirate Comics Show!

Of the two I actually care about...

Shifters Redux
This is actually an overhaul of my longest running comic (since 1998) to incorporate, polish and refine from all the experience the last 9 or so years of doing a webcomic have brought me. I'm fixing a lot of things here, from overhauling the artwork to fixing a wobbly confusing storyline. It is a serious comic in the sense its dramatic and not a fluffy happy story. Its set in a futuristic cyberpunk like enviroment liberally blended with mythology and conspiracy.

Brymstone
This is my 'fun' comic. I did it because I thought it would be a fun thing to do, and read because the main character, Darshe, is a fun person to torture. The story is about him, and his 'rehabilitation' from being an evil despot to a decent person and him fighting it every step of the way. Its in a fantasy enviroment with a twist. This is actually based on an RP campaign and borrows from a number of sources. Its kinda out there, and I do whatever I want with it for the most part.

The comparison

Shifters is serious and dramatic, whereas Brymstone is funny and wacky in many ways. There are serious parts and humours parts in each, but they are differently balanced between the two. Shifters is cyberpunk gothic but brymstone is postapocalyptic high fantasy. One of the biggest differences (at least to me) has to do with the focuses of the storytelling. Shifters is a story about a world being told through the characters, whereas in Brymstone its the story about a character being told with the help of the world. Its easy to focus in Brymstone because Darshe is the main character, and really, everything is there to support and tell HIS story, including himself. Shifters is a lot harder because its not 'Ferrah's story' per se, its a story about her, but its about Ben, Alice, Raven, John Sterling, Simon, Din Tau, Maveric, Nikki, etc, ect too. Ultimately the story is actually a lot larger and deeper than just the lives of the characters. They are all playing their part in a much larger thing, and as such, its a very different sort of storytelling. I've had to put a LOT more work into the Shifters enviroment than I have to with Brymstone. Backgrounds and such really reflect that too. In Shifters I am required to do detailed cityscapes with ads, logos, pictures, signs, posters, and all sorts of minute details that are present in modern living to give a sense of the enviroment or people get some really wrong ideas about the enviroment. Part of my redux was to 'amp up' the cyberpunk aspect of the enviroment, adding a lot of style and flare so people would get 'hey, its the future' without resorting to flying cars or looking like just another modern city. It forces me to learn to draw in new ways every time I do a page. :P

Both are fairly action oriented, with a lot of fighting, explosions, and conflict. Brymstone has the least number of characters. Shifters has the most. Brymstone probably has some of the best dialogue, although I'm trying to improve Shifters, the characters just don't have the same kind of outrageous mouth that Darshe does. Both have a lot of transformative themes, anthromorphs in various forms, and fantasy creatures present. I think of the two stories Brymstone is probably the most 'accessable' in that its easy to get involved and understand without a lot of backstory. The story itself is simplistic, Darshe getting abused until he learns not to be so much of a dick. Very simple. Shifters is not so simple. Its a very epic story, and there is so much going on around behind the scenes, conspiracies unraveling, secrets being exposed, twists, turns, etc, that while extremely interesting isn't quite as easy to get into. Some people have found it very frusterating in the past, but I'm trying to streamline it and focus more on the three main characters to make the telling of the story easier for the reader to digest without going nuts. But there is a lot to make you go 'buh?' if you aren't REALLY paying attention. Much of my foreshadowing is as much visual as it is dialogue. Backgrounds and stuff going on in backgrounds MEAN things.

Anyway. Shifters is a longer story than Brymstone, but that's neither here nor there. With my current rate of progression, I'll be 80 before they are done. :P I need to get off my ass... after I move.

Which do you like better? Artwise? Storywise? Characterwise? Overall?
Artwise... hard to say. I like the color use for brymstone, but the linework for Shifters is better overall I'd say. Shifters has more style.
Storywise, I like both or I wouldn't do em.
Darshe is by far my favorite character.
Overall... I like both or I wouldn't do em.

Which comic do you think is just better than the other one?
Brymstone is more accessable, but Shifters has a much more polished story.

Do ratings and hits make a difference if you like one of your comics more or not?

No. I do what I like. If other people happen to like what I like, then cool. If not, they can leave, I don't care. I'd draw anyway. Someone out there will enjoy it.

Do you try different art or writing styles in your different webcomics?
Shifters was an experimental peice for a LONG time, and has evolved SO much over its lifespan I can't even tell you. But I do like to experiment, and I will do so from time to time. But I try to keep artwork destined for publication relatively consistant.

Oh wow, this thread was made for me!

Well I currently have 12 comics and yeap I like to mix it up by tackling every genre, almost done too. Oh yes, and I try to use different styles as well, whether it's anime, or colour pencil or simple shapes, I'm there! There's always more to my comics but eh, I'll leave it at that.

Yup, I do have 2 comics thus far (and I'm planning a third one in the near future).

1. http://www.drunkduck.com/Billy_Learns_To_Rock/

2. http://www.drunkduck.com/Electronic_Revolutions_The_Burnhams/

3. (Coming Soon) Gunslinger Witch [gunslinger]

---------------------------------------------------------

Which do you like better?

I like Electronic Revolutions: The Burnhams more because I created this comic back in 1998 and it got stuck in my head. Whereas BLTR, it was created in 2000 but I placed BLTR before ER:TB because I want people to get into my story writing style.

Artwise?

Well, ER:TB has a better advanced art than BLTR because this is what I want. Burnhams is much more serious than BLTR so it needs!

Storywise?

Well, the story hasn't developed on ER:TB thus far but BLTR is in its 9th issue... but TB reached the action parts earlier than BLTR. BLTR is more lighter than ER:TB. BLTR has less violence and language but TB has some weird moments that will happen.

Characterwise?

BLTR's main character is Billy and ER:TB's main character is Ann. Billy and Ann have their own team of 4 and they're both are cool, goofy, and adventurous. I love them both but since Ann is my favorite character I created, I have a softer spot for her but that doesn't mean I don't like Billy. If I didn't, I wouldn't had introduced him and his comic first!

Overall?

Well, I have to go for ER:TB but that doesn't mean I hate BLTR. BLTR has the early advantage because it was there (somewhat) publically before Burnhams but I love them both. These 2 comics are my priorities between all the stories I have in my head, so I love both comics.

Do ratings and hits make a difference if you like one of your comics more or not?

Not really! BLTR gets more hits and comments than ER:TB but that doesn't make me want to hate Burnhams but I can't figure out why people aren't reading it much... it's getting to the juicy part and the characters are really cool.

Do you try different art or writing styles in your different webcomics?

You can tell the difference between the 2 comics. I don't want to repeat the same topic on every comic I create. BLTR is about rock n roll and metal with adventures and ER:TB is about sci-fi creating humans with intense action with violence. Artwise, BLTR is a bit simpler than ER:TB... I want The Burnhams comic to be more detailed.

Different media?

Same thing for both... penicling, inking, scaning, and coloring! This is my process!

Enjoy... Las Vegas-y

My comics are Pokemon Yellow Comics, Unofficial Pic Comic X, and That's Ironic. I will not count The Law of the Land as it is no longer in comic form and Bionicle Zeroes, because it only has one issue as of now.

Which do you like the best?
UPC-X my a very narrow margin simply because it's really, really fun to make. I mean, PYC always uses the same method of making the finished comic. Trace, Color, Put in bubbles, Add Title, wa la. Ti is same old Cut and Paste Sprites. But although UPC-X is C&P, there's still things to think about such as "What characters are going to appear?" "How will the joke be executed?" "Do i want a clean picture to work with, or do I want to take the time to cut out a picture with the pose I want but it has a really complicated background..." And so forth, but generally, I like all my comics nearly equally.

Artwise?
PYC obviously. And what do you expect? TI was a run-of-the-mill sprite comic. UPC-X is on the minimalist side of artwork, put PYC, even in it's sprite days, has been the best of all 3 of these comics graphically. In the sprite days, PYC used the Pkmn Yellow sprites instead of the FireRed/Leafgreen that were/are OH so common and was executed quite well, I'd say. Even the effects, for the most part were usually 8-bit. (Then again, I only has MS paint, back then, so no 999whatever-bit motion blurs for me) Now, even though it is now a drawn comic, it still kind of retains the 1st Generation Pokemon games with it's color pallette which is all based off the colors black, white, blue, and the variable color (Which right now is green and will be dark blue once Bklcbkl reaches Cerulean City).

Storywise?
Still PYC. UPC-X has no story and TI had a very thin one. PYC has a somewhat intricate storyline (Though you can't see it now as all the published pages are still very early in the story.) that I really think will be good enough to bring PYC up to "one of the best Pkmn comics" reputation by the time that it ends.

Characterwise?
I like the chracters in PYC and all their backstories and the futures that await them. (Though I like the characters that will appear in PYC in the future a bit more, especially... wait, can't tell ya! As much as I don't want to, you'll have to wait until the charcters are introduced in the comic. Now, as far as UPC-X goes, I like it's cast of charcters (Which are a LOT despite the fact that only the ones in the banner are somewhat regular.) But since they're already established characters, I have to be careful with the way they are adjusted so that they're still somewhat accurate. (For instance, I would never ever take Shadow the Hedgehog and make him something out of something from Dora the Explorer, you know what I'm saying?) As for TI, it's just the Sonic crew doing stuff.

Which comic do you think is just better than the other one?
It's really hard to say, I think PYC and UPC-X are just as good with each other in their own special ways. However, one thing I can say for sure is that PYC and UPC-X are quite a bit ahead of TI in terms of quality.

Do ratings and hits make a difference if you like one of your comics more or not?
Not really.

I have four comics right now 2 are just starting but I have a lot fo page done, in my workstation so I will compare them too n.n

http://www.drunkduck.com/Arghh_What_a_life/
http://www.drunkduck.com/Will_And_Tokyo/
http://www.drunkduck.com/MonkXDevil/
http://www.drunkduck.com/Phychd/

Which do you like better? Artwise? Storywise? Characterwise? Overall?Artwise I think its What a life, the characters are easy to draw, and are my favorites n.n....storywise, Will and Tokyo, cuz it have a "story" on it and not a gag, and I like to think in new ideas for that comic, charactereise, I think its better Phych`d, or Will and Tokyo, in Pshych`d all the character have his own mental problems, so its funny to think how they "think", in will and tokyo, the character have their own goals and how they try to fullfil it ne.
Overall: I think its Will and Tokyo, is more worked than the others.

Which comic do you think is just better than the other one?
Phshych`d > Will and Tokyo > Arghh What a life = Monk X Devil

Do ratings and hits make a difference if you like one of your comics more or not?
Not much, but I think that maybe what I like is not what they like, and I feel a little bad U.u

Do you try different art or writing styles in your different webcomics?
Yes, the gag style is sometimes difficult to do, (What a life, Phych`d) and the other style I do is the sotry plot (MonkXDevil and Will and Tokyo)

Different media?
When I have to color photoshop (What a Life Will and Tokyo), and the other is just ink (MonkXDevil, Phych'd)

I have 3 books, Terran Sandz , Broken Things , and Dead .

All 3 are very different, not only in subject matter, but also the style I use to create them.

I'll have to go with Broken Things as my favorite. I like the complexity of the characters & the story. The simple approach to the art adds to my appreciation for it. I'm also foolish enough to believe it's different from pretty much everything I've ever read (though that won't be obvious for a while yet).

Second favorite is Terran Sandz . It's the first mini series I ever completed, so it holds a special place in my heart. It's escapist fun. I enjoy the characters alot as well as the wierd world I've created for them.

Dead is the newest of the bunch, and by far the roughest, both in content and style. It's me just cutting loose with an "anything goes" attitude. Dead is probably the most challenging to write, as the character has absolutely no redeeming qualities.

I've actually stopped checking my ratings, as it's not really the reason I'm doing this. I was doing fairly well, ratings-wise the last time I'd checked, but it just started feeling silly checking to see how I stacked up against everyone else. Different strokes... and all that. I just love telling my stories & hope others will enjoy reading them.

Later,

Haha, I have two different comics, but I really really don't care one tiny single bit about Speckschwein , so WeirdStar is the clear favourite and I also think people like it better (naturally). And uhh, if Speckschwein WOULD have an audience (or I'd have ideas for it) I guess I'd actually try to update it regularily, but I'd still like WeirdStar better.

Now, the comics that I have floating around in my mind... All of them would utilitize different styles and perhaps even different media. I can't really judge if I'd like them better than WeirdStar, but I DO have high hopes for one of them, so maybe... Maybe.

I don't think anyone reads this thread, so I'll copy/paste what my co-artist said in an email:

RE: FIGHT more popular than FIGHT 2.

| | | Inbox

Hey M,

Emperor Nick is an old fan, so although it is nice to hear, you have to admit... he is a little biased.

I think F2 has a more coherent story from the start so it evolves less, and is more mature...

FIGHT was an experiment from the start so people had less expectations, and then it turned into something really cool, which is to your credit since you came up with most of the ideas. I just gave it a little personality and fixed the pacing a bit.

I think Tex just stole the show in FIGHT... He's a fun guy to draw and write.

Saber's cool too, but she's complicated, which makes F2... She's much less personable... Which can be big pluses in the future...

Later,
Ed

I'm the writer on a number of short comics but these are my main three. I'm not going to try to choose a favourite with regards to the art because the artist is different on each and, being of limited artistic ability myself, I think they're all superb! Story-wise, I like different things about each of them:

Shades

Shades was my first attempt at writing a comic script. I jumped in at the deep end and tried a full-length graphic novel. The artist is Harsho Mohan Chattoraj and he's doing a fantastic job at capturing all the different elements I've thrown at him. This is probably my favourite comic from a plot point of view because the the story works (or is supposed to!) on many different levels - an examination of the British national psyche, a look at what makes the super hero genre work and a fun-packed action adventure!

Hunted [brokenvoice.co.uk]
[brokenvoice.co.uk]
Someone suggested I should write a comic "with vampires and demons" and, initially, I said no because I just couldn't think of a way to put an original spin on that genre. Eventually, an idea did take shape and Hunted [brokenvoice.co.uk] was the result. The artist is Kyri Kyprianou. I probably like this one best from the point of view of its emotional content. I just can't help loving poor little Leni!

The Spires [brokenvoice.co.uk]
[brokenvoice.co.uk]
The artwork on The Spires [brokenvoice.co.uk] is by Fabrizio Pacitti, with colours by Bill Key. This was my attempt at the fantasy genre. I set myself a number of restrictions at the start - no Brothers Grimm style mediaeval forests or villages, no elves and no orcs (or goblins!) This story, then, is probably my favourite from a "world-building" perspective. I just love the idea that everything happens in a world totally created by me!

Talismen or Xylia.

Well, Xylia is only five pages long, so I cant really compare them. I loved Talismen when I worked on it, but I had to quit for a number of reasons, primarily to save my own sanity. The thing had become pocked with disappointments, and it was toil even thinking about working on it, and considering that I made absolutely no money working on it, it seemed pretty damn stupid to continue. (And yet there are still assholes out there who bitch because I did quit working on it. One dicksmack even posted a nasty note about never reading Xylia because I had quit Talismen.)

I guess becuase of that, I am biased towards Xylia. It isn't tainted with rejection and other problems that plagued Talismen. And I'm not collaborating on it with anyone either, so if it sinks or swims, i can totally blame myself.

I have 4+1 (one is currently in the works with only the character design down)

Each one has a different art style and subject. From mangish to cartoon-like to a mix of both.

My Unsound of mind comics deals more with sillyness and randomness that occurs both in my life and mind therefore it usually has art that looks rushed and unclean and almost never clored. I like this one the best cuz it allows me to be as random as I feel like.

From Dawn till Dusk is slightly more serious and hasn't really started yet. It's manga but drawn in a not so serious style. Art wise this is my best for now...

Gah Unit Deeksionary was based on an actual dictionary that I co-created. That didn't turn out to well as I found it difficult to describe some of the words with pictures.

um...Less than Zeros is a mock superhero comic drawn in a simpler style I developed before learning how to drawn manga. It currently only has a title page...on haitus

And the WIP: Para Paranoia. It's mangaish but again drawn in a different style than From Dawn till Dusk. I'm starting to like the art style for this comic more than the one for the other...Look at my Avi for teaser... *cough*

I have a major problem with actually staying with one story. I always end up coming up with new Ideas that wouldn't fit with a certain storyline so I end up having to create a totally different story/comic.

I have several currently in production. Only one (Spare Change) is hand drawn, and even though I've been neglecting it lately, it's my baby. I've been doing it since 2000, and stayed pretty consistant with it until lately.
