If you could write for any comic, what would it be?

For me, it would be Booster Gold. He's like the Charlie Brown of the Justice League. There's just so much to work with for that character.

I've had a Kamandi (a classic Kirby character) story I've wanted to tell forever.
Creator of Terran Sandz and Broken Things , and now Dead . Check 'em out.

I've always had a hankering to tell the backstory of Batman's Alfred - how he came to be so well-versed in so many arts (martial and otherwise), how he came to work for the Wayne's, how it is that with all those abilities he came to be a butler, etc. I think there's a lot of material to work with there.

Also in the Bat-universe, I'd have liked to re-work the origin story for Huntress. But that's being done now, so I suppose it won't be due for another retcon until ... oooh, a couple of weeks at least!

Even though I haven't read much...
Captain America.

But in all honesty, I'd definitely want to write for Udon's Street Fighter manga, I think it'd be quite fun ^_^

Detective Conan. I feel like a writer because whatever I picture as the coolest thing they could do with the plot or certain characters, they always seem to do it.

(Plus, it's the only comic I read. :-P )

Hellboy. I just finished re-reading The Chained Coffin and Other Stories for the third time this week, and it's like Mignola's stolen ideas right out of my head. I want to pick up where it left off - Hellboy's been at it for fifty-ish years, so there's a lot of time to fill up - and dig even deeper into folklore.
The Continued Misadventures of Bonebird - a poor bird's quest for the ever-elusive and delicious apples.

Young Avengers, The Blue Beetle, or Teen Titans. I like writing for teenage characters. I'd also to write for Booster Gold, except I really like his current creative team and want them to write it forever.

In print? I'd be bringing Alpha Flight back and writing the mess out of that! Daredevil is a VERYCLOSE second!

In webcomics? It's a tie between penning arcs for

-Used Books
-Scorch
-Lancaster The Ghost Detective

Spider-Man and Superman. Both because the idea of doing either one of those scares the crud out of me, but also because I'm not sure I've ever read a story about either of those characters that conformed to my idea of who they are.

I'm with Frostflowers on Hellboy. Would love to write and illustrate some tales more along the japanese mythos similar to what they did with the animated movies.

I always loved Lobo from DC and I think that would be a hoot to play with that character but in a more serious tone, but not losing his sarcastic bitter wit.

Batman, definitely. He's just always been my favourite. I have a few stories I've come up with, and then modified because of Riddler turning good or Jason Todd coming back from the dead or whatever, but I would still love to do a Batman six issue storyline I have. I also have one or two single issue stories I'd like to write for Detective Comics, but the long storyline is what I'd prefer to do.

Also, I'd like to take a crack at writing a new Blade series, sort of like a sequel to Blade 5, and see if I can beat the record for most issues in a Blade series (Which is, coincidentally, Blade 5 with 12 issues).

And finally, Fables

That's precisely what I was thinking. :) Only, I wouldn't stop at the Japanese mythos - I'd go for the Slavic (Russian, mostly) folklore. Since they've already touched on Baba Yaga, there's room for it.

Hellboy vs. Koschei the Deathless would be such an awesome thing to explore.

*needs to watch those movies*

You seem to like detective comic. I'd recommend you to try out Kindaichi's Case Files [ex.org]. :3

There are a few I'd have to go with. The top 3 would be:
Hulk -- He's been my favourite character since I was very little.

Superman -- Love him or hate him, he's freakin' Superman. That would just be cool to be able to say I wrote Superman.

Batman -- See my comments about Superman. But I'd have a tough time with this one as my take on the character might not be so well received.

I think I got this out of my system as a kid, doing a fan version of The New Mutants and cameos of my favorite Marvel characters (X-Men, Spiderman, Fantastic Four, The Avengers, etc.) in my superhero stories. I wasn't too happy doing stories for existing Marvel heroes. It seemed a great idea at the time but it wasn't very satisfying. I suppose it would be different doing in-print versions for pay but I'm so disenchanted with print comics in general now that it's a definite bias.

Webcomics is better. With Off Hours, it's been a blast to work with and script for characters of other webcomics that I love and respect so much. And the fact that their "actors" and not their character, adds a whole new dimension to it, makes it more fun! I don't know how I'd feel about drawing canon material on those same webcomics, although it would be an honor to do so.

I would love to take a stab at Appleseed...man I don't even know if I could write well for that comic...but oh man would that be cool to write Deunan And Briareos.
I have always had a fondness for Captain America and have some ideas for him rolling around in my head.

Also give me an Usagi Yojimbo story...cool samuria Rabbit action...sweeettt:)

That is about it for now.

Well maybe a stab at the Red Star...love that series

Hmm... I don't think I'd like to write any character that's not mine. I either love them and would be afraid to ruin these characters (ending up writing a pale shadow of whatever original writer did) or I don't care/dislike them, in which case I'd be hard to stop from butchering these characters... or rather their relatives, assuming they have any. Aunt May's intestines strewn across the floor of the house? Now THAT would give Peter Parker a reason to cry about life >:D

But yeah, I'm not really interested. I have enough of my tales to tell for the next 40 years.
