I was the same way. I stopped because someone told me personally that they were getting annoyed by my constant avatar changing. I don't know why they were annoyed, they didn't tell me. They just were...

... You can change your avatar?

Myself, I've only had about three real avatars. My first one, which looked like a batarang, my second one, a terrbly picture of Cthulhu, and this one, which has seen many edits, including an emo girl.

Also, thanks to the Top Drawer's High School-like mentality, I've had some different avatars to fit in. Stuff like Hulk when we were Marvel, and Aqua Man when we were some superhero group. I would have been the janitor when we were doing Scrubs, but I missed that phase. :(

But yeah, only three real ones. Not too mnay, considering I've been here for two years. lol!

My plan was to change it each time a new Joker picture came out, and new a new Joker picture every two weeks when they rolled out the closer it got to the TDK premier. But like DD will ever have something as simple as an avatar system work, so in fear of having mine switch to some random avatar I uploaded months ago, I've abandoned my plan and just left it the way it is.

But yeah, I'm pretty much "addicted" to it too.

I'm too afraid to change my avatar since the system is defunct. Sometimes I'm a long-blonde-haired boy who some people mistake for a girl, and sometimes I'm a horned dragon who some people mistake for a girl.

I'm pretty content where I'm at right now, though.

From a psychological standpoint this can be interpreted that you have trouble to commit to things in real life. You start one thing but soon drop it in favor of something else. When your older this could probably mean that you won't be able to keep a job, and having a steady relationship will prove difficult. Further down the line this could introduce you to gambling as a desperate way to get cash and thrills. As you loose more and more money you eventually get connected with underground crime gangs and due to your inability to finish things you finally get a price on your head and end your days shot down in an alley.

And all of this because you change your avatar too much.

I changed my avatar way back when I thought DD civil war was returning, *sniff*...it's the silhouette of the civil war-ized version of myself with a ruler weapon. (Though now it'd be more accurate for me to hit people over the head with a tablet.)

I can't think of any good new avatars so I just left it the same.

I'm somewhat addicted to changing my pants. Is there a 12-step program for that?

The other boards I'm on people have gotten angry when I've changed it. So dear, sweet, lovable Searsha is over there looking formidable and ready to seriously injure anyone who pisses her off.

Sometimes a fictional character takes on a life of his/her own. :)

Well, it seems that my avatar, due to a bug, will change itself to the last 5-ish avatars I've used (which worked out better than I expected, since they're all similar in design), depending on which computer with which browser you're viewing it on, as well as the position of the moon. So, don't fret, you'll find one you like eventually.

Why not get your top ten or whatever, and turn it into an animated gif? Then your avatar will always change without you worrying about it!

I can't even change mine. I tried but can't.

I think a reason people might get irritated with avatar changes is because there's a tendency to see someone's avatar and ignore the username. (What's more important: someone's face or their name?) When you change your avatar, you change your face, and if you do it too much, it can get confusing.

Although, if you change your avatar like, every day, then that would sort of be "your thing", and I imagine it wouldn't be confusing at all.

I've only had three different avatars. Sealeo, Gothic font W, and then the smoking Walrus I have now.

I had two. The one of my character Tarami and a fruit girl. I don't like the fruit girl one anymore so i changed it back to the other one but the system keeps changing it back and forth between the two...

This is the one I'm sticking with until the end of time. You're all so indecisive.
