I want to read a good web comic...

...a Poke`mon fan fiction episode series or something. NOT a stupid sprite!(My hat off to those with the skills to create sprite comics, though.) Set on a new continent, with new poke`mon and characters weaved in with Ash and company and part of a movie sequal plot concerning yet another ancient legend. Quality of the art is no issue, but the storyline should be complex, action/packed with emotive characters, a new team of baddies and plenty clever in the range and nature of its elements. And some epic scale poke`mon battles... Saving the Poke`mon world is fine as it is in the tradition of the movie series.

Please help me... Ever since I crafted my own scenario for this sort of Poke`mon FF web comic series, I have been dying to know if anyone has gone as far as
I would like... I have never had an original idea in my life, so there MUST be a series something like this...

Well... here's one you might like... it's probably the only Pokemon comic I read here.
Updates Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday's (depends).

Well I know I'm doing something right! :) But I'm not sure it's what SkylerVane's looking for.

I'm not all too sure about the other fan comics around here since I hardly read any myself, but I think Pokemon Yellow Comics may be somewhat along those lines... it starts out a sprite comic but its most recent episodes are hand drawn.
By the time you finish this, you'll have read it. :3

I already checked out PYC. Definitely not what I am looking for. Few Poke`mon fans are webbie artists who are willing to sit down for two years and turn out a 500+ page comic. Hard to fine a real quality artist who is fan enough to work on something like that without being paid, anyway. Plenty of fan fiction, but so few writers think of having their material visually delevoped...

0_0 Do you know how difficult it would be to turn out 500 pages, especially about pokemon, which has an extremely limited fanbase in webcomics??

They all have other original projects/are being paid. :P

But really I'd hope you lower your standards, for webcomics as well as the pokemon ones lol.

I hope to assemble a 10-20 artist team. And while the number of pages is an issue as well as fan interest, the Poke`mon frachise offers plenty of material to build 500 pages on. I hope to negate the limited fanbase aspect with a good storyline. There are a lot of franchises I do not like and Genres I do not read, but if the exposure is good, if the characters are interesting and the story is well written, I can get sucked into just about anything.

Too bad Poke`mon did not generate a loyal fan fiction following like Dinotopia.

I don't kid myself. I have grave doubts there is any poke`mon comic like I want. That is fine with me: that means the Poke`mon Dozens Project is unique in its intent. I do not expect anything from anyone for free. Public and private funding for the Poke`mon Dozens Project is a consideration as far as I am concerned. If the PDs Project gets off the ground with a little volunteer support, I have every intention it should go all the way and not take four years to do it...

It does, yes, but unforunately, no one here with a Pokémon comic has really been here long enough to reach this.

Probably, you've never seen the sheer amount of Pkmn fanfics at Fanfiction.net or Serebii.net forums. The quality of said works is debatable, but it is quite a loyal Pokémon following.

Like I said, this may have to do with the fact that Pkmn webcomics haven't been around that long, or at least none that I know of that is farther than maybe the 2nd/3rd gym.

Just my 2 cents, really. I hope your project does lift off.

Hence, why I am set on assembling a crew. It takes too much raw passion and fan dedication to sit down and work for three years alone. If I can line up several artists willing to work on the Poke`mon Dozens Project on condition that there are multiple other artists involved, then I hope the thing can be turned out in a matter of months. And 500 pgs is a very high estimate. The skill of the comic artists involved can probably keep the whole thing down to around 200 pgs. That is ten pages each for twenty artists or proportionally more for two and three person staging teams. At a page circa a week simultaineous, then the whole thing can be up in its entirety within three months, certainly within six.

I AM more familiar with thepokemontower.com, actually. The problem is, few writers think of going farther and seeking to have their material visually presented.

My mistake for using the phrase "episode series". I am not interested in a gym circuit adventure/quest series. That is the #1 most common fan fiction scenario, which makes it much less unique and, to me, interesting. What I seek is an adventure story fitting for a official movie sequal. Do you know any textual only Poke`mon FF stories like that? I am quite attached to mine, but it can't be the only one of its kind. I will focus the Poke`mon Dozens Project on another scenarion entirely if I can find one I feel keen enough to promote. I am very picky, but I like to think I can be reasonable too.

Thank you for your comments.

Well, the Pokemon fanfiction library everywhere on the internet is so diverse that you can find all kinds of different (but like I said, not nessessarily good) takes on the Pkmn universe.

I do like your idea, though. I may consider joining your project.

I don't really want a "take". I want a serious continuation story which follows the established rules for the Poke`mon franchise so far, yet isn't afraid to bend the rules within reason and to break new ground in the setting of a new region.

It seems there are only the extremes in most cases. Either a FF writer works completely with established material, or starts from it and departs from it directly.

I have original ideas. People just steal them and make movies out of them before I can do anything about it. You could try out my comic or looking at my profile for somehand drawn ones. Here's a link to mine: www.drunkduck.com/Pokemon_Sinnoh_Surfer
