So, since this topic at some point moved away from Persona specifically and to MegaTen in general, anyone here play IMAGINE?

Yes. While it's not ouright bad, it is astoundingly boring. Very solid game, but I just could not get into it.

I got into it. Then lost interest for a few months. Then I got into it again. Then lost interest again. I'm beginning to think it's connected to the moon in more ways than just a gameplay mechanic.

I've seen only a little bit of the DS title, and I have no urge to pick it up. Something about DS games just puts me off anyway, so I've never really bothered to buy one since Pokemon Diamond.

EDIT:

New Persona figures were announced today for Aigis and her asshole sister (The Answer was so dull up until the end).

I like how for no reason they massively increased Aigis' bust.

On that note, anyone pick up Devil Survivor for DS? It's not bad, I got it for the art style, and the battles are pretty fun too, but you've got some characters that are interesting(Atsuro, Naoya), and some that are just plain annoying(Yuzu's default response to any situation:"BUT I DONT WANNNAA FIGGHHTTT!").

Yeah, I picked up a copy of that last week, and I'm enjoying it. I'm pretty new to this mash up of visual novel/strategy/RPG, and even MegaTen games in general, but I'm really digging it.

I still need to get out of the habit of constantly grinding and learn how to play the game well.

Oy, Matador. Real son of a biscuit, that one. I had an incredibly hard time with him, they just don't give you much to work with by that time. Anything that can ruin his speed or modify yours in great in that case, but there isn't much around that level, I think.

Daisajou is the next facewrecker, but the fiends get easier after him. My recommendation on Dai is simply drain let his mana to nothing if possible, much easier than directly fighting him at full power.

TaterSalad: How goes Nocturne?
Me: Not well, Matador is a fucking whore.
TaterSalad: Hah! I beat him in two tries, you must suck at this game.
Me: Well he keeps (BLAH BLAH WHINE BLAH WORDS) so I cant hit him.
TaterSalad: I cant beat Dante, I've been stuck on him for weeks and eventually gave up. Watch though, you'll tard out and somehow beat him first try.
Me: Prob.

TaterSalad: What?

I'm tempted to call fake since that character art looks like it's cobbled together from various other character designs in P3, but I guess it will just allow players the option to swap which character they want at the start kind of like the Pokemon games. Either way, this is surprisingly half-assed on their part.

I wonder if this allows for same-sex dating which brings up my real complaint:

WHY THE FUCK CANT WE GET A PSP PORT OF INNOCENT SIN

The game was only banned because you could fight hitler and date guys, but I guess cunt bumping is perfectly ok, lets rehash P3 again as opposed to bringing over a real classic.

God damnit Atlus.

Either way I doubt I'll buy that, after playing through P3 about three times now, getting to play as a chick offers nothing I really care about. The Answer was pretty shitty too so I dont really have faith in P3 b-b-b-bonus content.

I want to destroy the person who designed this figure. I want to punch them in their stupid face. this is what hatred is. speaking of which, I really need to finish The Answer. :l

anyway, that PSP port of Persona 3 with the female protagonist (and a bonus male Elizabeth expy who totally looks like the gay lovechild of Kanji and Akihiko) has been confirmed:

Wow this looks dumb. Then again most expansions onto Persona 3 are. The Answer was boring as hell, the anime was all around terrible, and I dont think this'll be too great either.

I'm not sure what remaking a few characters into the opposite sex is suppose to do for replay, or who it's suppose to appeal to for that matter (other than Rule 63 fanatics).

And yeah that Aigis sculpt. is pretty weird, though the Teddie one is really awesome and I must have it.

I'm just excited because there's a chance you can date the male characters now! it always irked me that you never really got to find out about your male team members in Persona 3 since they had no S. Links for you to complete.

also I just like the girl's design. :x

and you can now control your teammates in battle, which means the final boss just got a thousand times easier! god I hated that bitch. :l

I'm not sure why people have so many issues with the lack of full-on team command. If you actually bother to issue orders accordingly you'll never run into any problems. I guess it's nice to have full control though, but I'm still not seeing anything that warrents another thirty dollars for this game unless you dont already own it. vOv

Nyx Avatar wasnt a hard boss though, in fact it she pretty easy. I've never got why people bitch about P3's difficulty. If you know how to play it, issue commands properly, and keep yourself well prepped (knowing who is in Great! condition and when, what items will help cover weaknesses, etc) the game is a cakewalk.

I only hated Nyx because her final form took sooooo daaaamn looooong to kill. and she just loved to occasionally charm my healer-and ONLY my healer-and make him used Diarahan on her. dammit Ken. :l with direct commands it wouldn't take nearly as long to wear her HP down, although there is still the problem of the charming...

now I feel kind of dumb for being so bad at that game (it was about 2 years ago when I first played it...) but hey, hindsight is 20/20, right? lD

Well that's why you pack Dis-Charms. Also she attacks in waves of HP so I still dont see how that's too much of a problem considering each wave is only around 5k-8k.

I thought Erebus is much harder.

Gameplay footage of the P3 remake was released recently. It maybe be shakey cam, but a few changes are easy to spot:

- Music is all new for the female character. This means even the battle theme is changed, so no more "BABY BABY BABY". It seems to work better in some places and seem strange in others.
- Grahpical update. Things seem to have a more cel-shaded look. The animations seem more smooth and battles look a little more fun now.
- You cannot travel in 3D unless you're in Tartarus. Now to navigate in the school or outside you select your location from a series of menus.

As soon as I read the topic title I knew what this was about. Persona is indeed amazing and one of my favorite games. I recently finished my first run of P3: FES and I have a copy of P4 ready to go. I'm not much of a JRPG fan but the SMT games are all so great. I love the art style and settings of all of them and commend Atlus for making some unique JRPGs.

Neato. I wonder what other new features they'll have? I also wonder if it'll have the Answer or not.

I've said this before: The Answer was incredibly boring up until you fight the protagonist after which things really pick up.

Am I the only one who thinks Aigis and her sister's voice actresses are really grating? I mean Aigis is a RILF (robot I'd like to fuck) but only if I could disable her voice function. disable it withm y cokc yeeah!

I'm thinking for getting DDS1 and 2 next. They seem to float around 30 bucks easy on Amazon and I'm guessing that's a good deal. Plus if they're anywhere near as long as Nocturn and both Persona games, it'll give me something to play for untold weeks.

No, sir. I find Aigis' quasi-monotone largely unpleasant to listen to; her sister less so. But I might be biased. I never really liked Aigis that much to begin with.

Only thing I really like out of all of this is the Rule34 I'm getting on the protagonist now. And that I might get some more music to listen to once it's out.

Here is a picture of Junpei my lord and savoir

KOtaku posted a review of Persona 1 for PSP. Glad to hear that they actually did go to the trouble of fixing a lot of the flaws with the original north american release.
