I'd agree on that one. A handful of artists are really good with paint, but it's much easier to just get a better program, like Photoshop, Paintshop, Coreldraw or GIMP.

my advice would be to learn how to use a better program... that is for cleaning up a comic:P really paint is good for structure and the other programs are really better for making a comic look nice...

Both of the previous comments are true, but if you develop your style in Paint over time you just might get better...just might.

Paint is hard to work with. If you really want to make something with the limited tools Paint offer then you just have to practise and keep at it. You'll get better just as you would if you used pencil and paper. I don't think there's any real tricks to Paint because it's such a simple program.
Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

You CAN work with Paint. Its just more reistricting than say... Paintshop or Illustrator. You wont be able to work with layers which help keeps your art clean and organized.
Paint also doesnt have some of the nifty tools that other advanced programs do and some of the tools Paint have really sucks. If you want to stick with Paint, by all means... Go ahead. My suggestion is play with simple two or three colors tone. It will give some life to your work instead of flat one color tone. Pratice on line drawing... Its tough with mouse, belive me, but its not impossible. I work with mouse and it took me awhile to learn. Other than that, it takes pratices and more pratices. Eventually you'll get there!
If you want to try new program, you can get GIMP for free online (just google it). It works very much like Paintshop. Be sure to read the instruction and play around to get the hang of the program. Some people hate GIMP, some just love it.
Hope that helps!

OUCH! Well, I know why it is the way it is. The thumbnail in the comic looks so bad because you stretched it in paint. The way it looks to me, you streched by hand. Instead, right click the item you need to stretch, choose stretch/skew from the menu, and type in the apropriate numbers. It will still be pixely though, so usaly i use "Power Point" to strech/skew/shrink. Your text is crap cuz of a feature that automaticly shades your text. The solution to this is type on your comic where you need AFTER you finished the background.
I hoped that helped, and if not, try using powerpoint (if you have it).

I dont know why somebody would like to devolve instead of using something better.
Its like throwing the computer and go paint with stones in a cave.
MS paint is a basic coloring application introduced in windows 3.0, It was originally named PaintBrush and was something for kids to mess up. It hasnt changed at all since then.
(to give you an idea about how old it is, windows 3.0 was three versions before windows 95.)
Id suggest that, if you want to do things with better quality, then try learning either photoshop or GIMP instead of learning "new" things in MSpaint that will not help you improove the quality of what you want to do.
Besides, how hard can it be to learn a new program?

Not all people may afford Photoshop, but GIMP is a free download so it shouldn't be hard to get that (heh, I did). Paint.net is also really available online and you should give that a try with your paint work.
