I Have Seen The Future And Its Name Is Iguana Man

So my sister is in eighth grade, and she goes to school with this kid named Patrick Cavanaugh. When my sister tells stories about her day at school, Patrick is always the real weird crazy random kid-- the kid who wore a Kleenex box on his head with the word "King" Post-it-noted onto it, the kid who yelled out ridiculous questions during assemblies, the kid who apparently worships me as unto a god (though it's actually pretty normal for middle-schoolers to use high-schoolers as role models in my area, apparently. I just think it was bad foresight of him to select me). It was only today, though, that my sister showed me his website-- and his comic, Iguana Man. [iguanaman.co.nr]

The comics themselves are pencil on looseleaf (two commodities in abundance in middle school), but they show potential. And the kid has his own forum and everything. He even has a theme song, which is wayyy more than I have. Overall, Patrick is bearing a frighteningly uncanny resemblance to me in middle school, only significantly cooler: Instead of drawing a weird little comic and then ferreting it away so that no other human's eyes could find it (basically what I did with Paperman), he is drawing a weird little comic and then putting it on the web while simultaneously spreading his fame throughout the student body. Plus he has a theme song. A theme song! Wow.

So... yeah. Go check it out. The comics are written (mostly) by Patrick, drawn by... some kid named Ron, I think, and, though they aren't too professional-looking, they're totally better than some of the stuff I've seen on DD and CG. I am getting the feeling that, one day, Patrick might either ride by my side in the glorious cavalcade of next-generation comics creators, or, more likely, be the one to eventually defeat me in battle. Anyways: read it.

Just a quick look and it looks really, really good!

I recognised the flash animation theme from the online HP printer adds of last year and before... hehehe. Still, the site looks as good as the comic. He's got a great thing going there. Lots of potential.

...A kleenex box on his head???????????

The future is now. We should bombard a middle school and each take a kid to train in our mystrious ways...
Anyway, the kid's got promise, and he knows how to make a site. As for drawing on notebook paper...he's just one step behind my computer paper and office supplies comic...

This does remind me of my Super Snail comics from the 5th and 7th Grade.
