If you are looking for a great sandbox game, try Scarface. Meanwhile, wait for No More Heroes which is sure to be awesome.

Yeah, No More Heroes is getting some nice reviews from various sources.

Maybe you already knew about the game, but Super Mario Galaxy is probably the best game on the system. Also, I just got Zack and Wiki, and it's pretty awesome. It uses the Wii's abilities in all the right ways. And if you haven't played Resident Evil 4, the Wii version is the the best version of a game that was already close to perfect.

Metroid Prime 3 and Mario Galaxy. Other than that, pretty much just wait for Brawl, unless you like minigames collections and puzzle games.

Maybe RE 4 as well, if you want an action RE game instead of a survival horror.

Like previously stated, unless you want mini games; go with Super Mario Galaxy and Metriod Prime 3. There's also Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess; but if you played it on the Gamecube, it's really confusing (Because the maps are fliped).

If you have a gamecube, you should get prime 1 & 2.

Prime 3 makes hardly any sense if you don't play those.

Flaahgra?

Just flip up those satellite things and go into one of those morph ball tunnels, go into the bomb slot at the end and lay a bomb.

You can stun him with 2-4 charged shots. Stunning him is your best bet at defeating him. If he gets unstunned, stun him again. Immediatly. He flips the satellite thingies down if you leave him.

I strongly recommend Rayman Raving Rabbids (the first one) and Super Mario Galaxy !

Actually, I'd recommend the second Rayman over the first one. Aside from the shooting game (the hit detection isn't as precise and you lose an ability from the first one) everything else is just as well designed, except it's geared more easily toward multiplayer. Both Rabbids games are great on entertainment, but it really steps things up a notch when you can bring a friend along, too. Especially since in the second one you can actually play as a Rabbid, and customize them with all sorts of crazy outfits.

Actually, Raving Rabbids is nothing like classic Rayman. It's actually a minigame compilation. It's well-designed and all that, but if you're hoping for another proper Rayman this isn't it.

Unfortunately with the Wii, the novelty value wears off very quickly. It's cute fun for a few weeks, but I can honestly say that I haven't played it in at least three or four solid months. So we're thinking of selling ours.

I think that's really more on the games than the system itself. What games do you have for it? Things like Raving Rabbids and other such games don't really have much to come back to, but games like Metroid Prime 3, Mario, RE4 and the like can easily take up months of play time.

We have games like Mario and Zelda as well, but we don't really have the time to sit down and play them.

Haha, that's an interesting dilemma. So, basically, the pick up and play games on the Wii don't have much longevity, yet you're unable to enjoy the long-term games because they take up too much time in one sitting... I hear geometry wars is a nice, simple game that can be very addicting. Or the Guitar Hero series.

This and the thread title is hilariously reminiscent of what happens when you first have that realisation (thread title) about this system's genital namesake. lol!

I'm sorry :)

Myxo said something about the system not tending to get "Mature" games, an area where Nintendo has always had a bit of a lack compared to other systems. Is that still the case?

Well, the big examples to the contrary are Resident Evil 4 and Manhunt. There's also No More Heroes coming out soon, which is gorey, stylistic action game. Red Steel, which launched with the system, while not delivering gameplay still had a fairly mature story and lots of violent action.

So, no, I wouldn't say it's necessarily lacking in Mature games. Just that those games, for whatever reason, aren't really emphasized much for the system. Everyone just gets so caught up with the wave of cutesy, sugar-sweet minigame compilations that they don't pay attention to games like this coming out.

I've always seen Nintendo as HAVING the mature games, just that it doesn't have as many or quite as extremely mature as other systems. Manhunt 2 is on there, yeah, so that's a big step over for it, but that's still one game. As for the RE series, I never found it to be that much more mature than any other game I ever played.

The only (Good) games I can really think of off the top of my head that I would really consider to put a system in the "Mature" area are the Manhunt series, the God of War series, the GTA series (I wouldn't really include this because of it's lack of real gore and the fact that it doesn't really show anything when you bang a hooker, but the fact that you're just killing random innocent people on the side of the street instead of monster things really makes it a bit worse), and Silent Hill (It has vagina monsters and shit. You can't say that it isn't mature).

Since the only one of those on the Wii is Manhunt, I'd have to say it is a bit lacking in mature games. But it DOES have them.

Most of the games you said though Inky? Not much to really make them "Mature". Red Steel is no more mature than any other shooter (Admittedly it sucked so much that I quit playing it, so I don't know much about the story, but as for visuals there wasn't much to make it "Mature" ) and RE is pretty much just shooting guys with bug monsters in them (So that's nothing that isn't in every rated T game ever). As for No More Heroes, it isn't really out yet so I can't say much about who gets dismembered and whatnot. But it didn't really look like there would be much super-violence/sex/drugs/vagina monsters to me. I could be wrong though.

All systems have RATED Mature games, of course, but they usually don't have the kind of things that REALLY make a game have that "Do not play this game unless you're over 18" feel to them.

Then again, maybe we're using different meanings of the word mature.

Your standard of mature just seems to be stricter than mine. I basically consider a game "mature" if it's got excessive blood, violence, sex, or drug use; not necessarily realistic, or bizarre.

Your argument for Resident Evil seems wholly based on what actions the player does. It doesn't take into account violent, graphic beheadings with a chainsaw the enemies can and will inflict on you if you don't watch your step.

The reason I've set my standard higher is because the standard amount of violence in most games is really high.

And beheadings? Big deal. That's nothing compared to a retarded pigman running you down with a chainsaw while his dick flops in the air (Manhunt). It's not the same as running down innocents in the streets just for the hell of it (GTA). And it's not like ripping a guys arm off, beating him senseless with it, and then shoving it through one end of his digestive tract and all the way out the other (God of War). And it's DEFINITELY not Pyramid Head raping a pair of disembodied legs (Silent Hill).

Beheading? Turok's been doing that for years.
