Nintendo in their infitite wisdom decided to make the Wii wireless and ONLY wireless. If you don't have a wireless router, you're going to need one of these . Once you are capable of accessing the net wirelessly, you go to the Wii Options menu in the lower left corner of the main menu screen. Choose "Wii Settings," cycle over to the second set of options and choose "Internet." From there you should see the options for setting up your internet connection.
I also have a bit of a question. Has anyone else found their sensor bar to be kind of spotty. My cursor used to twitch on the main menu. I originally thought it might be the controllers, but it turns out when I picked up the Nyko Wireless Sensor Bar my menu control went from twitchy to spot on. The only reason I can think of for this is that the IR signal from the Nintendo bar must be really weak.

When my friend set up his Wii on one TV it worked fine. When we moved it downstairs it wouldn't work at all. That's the only trouble I've had, but I don't personally own the system.
