Just in case you have missed the newest trailer.
I think it looks freakin' awesome. I'm so glad dumbass (which is what I have called him for years, due to his vast talent and little common sense) stayed out of prison long enough to get a few movies under his belt and I think he'll make a heckova Stark. Woo Hoo!

Actually looks like it'll be pretty cool. Though we shouldn't assume anything yet. Need I remind you all of Spider-man 3 and Ghost Rider? Both had decent trailers and ended up being awful movies. This may end up the same.

WHAT DA FUK is Sam Jackson doing as Nick Fury?!!! Nick is caucasian! Original Fury busts his ass in comics for 40 years. What does he get? David-fukkin-Hasselhoff! Ultimate Nick Fury bares a more than semi-likeness to a certain actor who says "muddafukka" alot, and what does he get? Sam-muddafukkin-Jackson! I'm just a little bit tired of caucasian comic book characters being given to non-caucasian actors. Will Smith and Halle Barry have ALOT to answer for in this respect.

Ooh, he mentioned Myspace. This movie is totally going to be hip and with it!
I think it looks kind of silly. It has that feeling of "not near as good as the trailer." Plus it's hard to get excited over this when I never read the comics.
That too. And I'm sick of political crap.

Notice how there was ALOT of similarities between the Iron-Man and Dr. Strange animated movies?
If this movie was done around 1992, I would so have had Timothy Dalton as Stark.

That's probably what they're basing it off of, cause that comic was one of the better ones.
Also I think this movie will be good for a superhero comicbook movie. They're meant to be fun, not chock full of deep drama. There's enough crappy deep drama being done in comic books.

One thing's for sure, him flying around looks rockin'good! I think given enough budget Hollywood can pretty much make whatever they want happen on screen anymore. I'm a little worried about the music - way too easy and typical, but RDJ is perfect.

I think it's obvious that they're basing him off of the Ultimate version. Which is, interestingly, designed to look like Jackson.

It'd be tough to do an Iron Man movie without "political crap"... he's 1) wealthy and corporate, and that's always been in the forefront with Iron Man rather than just as background stuff the way it's often done with Batman... 2) being played up recently as a majorly political figure because of Civil War... and 3) his origin is tied up in a politically controversial war (be it Vietnam or Iraq).
I think the best we can hope for is that the politics is used as a jumping-off point and we don't end up with moralizing. All in all, I'd say the trailer looks really promising.

Jon Favero seems to know how to make a decent funny movie. Not so sure about his action/fantasy skills, but I gotta say the trailer captured elements of the character that often get glazed over for some reason. Tony Stark is an asshole playboy, not exactly as evil as he's being written now in the Civil War stuff, but a bit of a prick none-the-less. The having a drink to celebrate is an excellent nod the characters biggest enemy: alcoholism. They've taken his origins out of the Korean war and placed it into a more contemporary setting. I think that was a wise thing to do, since his original origin was a little bit lame. Interestingly, it appears he even makes a version of his original, literally iron suit. Its great stuff, I think. Lastly, who didn't love the use of Black Sabbeth's Iron Man song?
I give this trailer an A plus. It got me hyped for the movie more than any article in Wizard ever could. It looks like a fun good movie. Hopefully less "what the fuck is going on?" moments than Spider-man 3 (I'm sorry spiderman, my daughter she's dying. I'm going to fly away now and rob a bank) or Ghost Rider (I have a holy shotgun, they didn't use a holy shotgun in any movie ever. Also why change Blackhearts awesome costume design into the crappy one in the movie?) but goofy scenes aside, I still liked both. They got positive reviews from me, partially because of my bias towards marvel and the characters, but really, they were good decent action adventure fantasy super hero movies. Ghost Rider was about as good as Daredevil, which again, not great, but still passable, especially the directors cut of Daredevil that plays on TV. I've yet to see the extended cut of Ghost Rider, but theres not much they can do there other than change the entire ending fight. Same with Spider-man 3. Sandman at the end made me yell at the screen in anger. To have one of the absolute coolest origin scenes in all of movies and then just do what he does at the end, bullshit! So yeah, you give me a decent hour in Iron Man and about 30 minutes of what the shit goofyness like landing in front of an American flag or him doing incredibly out of character wife beating and emo dancing, I'd still say it was a good movie.
I ain't expecting Citizen Kane from a comic book movie, and I don't think anyone that makes them goes in with that thought. You just want a cool movie, like 300 or V For Vendetta (which moved things around and changed some plot elements, but still was pretty decent.)

I am so hyped for this movie! I've been a fan of Iron Man since I was little! Plus, it's got Terrence Howard in it too! This is gonna be so awesome, even if it sucks I'm still gonna love it, even if it's because they play Black Sabbath's Iron Man or for some stupid superficial reason. As long as they aren't too preachy with the politial stuff, I think it will be fine. The animated movie was great...still I wonder, does this mean that Dr. Strange is coming out with a movie soon too?

Me. It felt tacked on. The tone of the trailer was light/humerous/dramatic, and Iron Man is an angry metal song. If, in the film, they set up the atmosphere before they use it, I think it could work fine (Iron Man finding renewed confidence in himself and kicking ass/taking names after being beaten down by the bad guy etc. etc.) -- but in the trailer it just came out of nowhere and made me think WTF? this doesn't fit.
Having said that, I loved the trailer, this is the only thing I found odd about it, and I expect to love the movie.
