Stay active in the forums and give comments on other people's comics. THat's what worked for me
the only thing dumber than this signature is the one who's reading it...

most of the time if you have an attractive banner, they will follow it to your comic
-be active with the discussions of the forum
-create an eye pleasing banner on your signature
