That's pretty much what happened.
Well, except for the fact that the British could re-load three times every minute for America's once a minute and a half.

Very funny.
Can't believe how juvenile some of the comments on it were, though (from both sides of the argument!)

A WW2 fighter pilot, a First Century warrior queen and a prehistoric shaman. Oh, and their tailor. These are not your common-or-garden heroes! [..]

Yes I know that this game is retarded. It's also fun for some retarded reason.
This one is less retarded, but it's mostly just fun for the trolling

since the british walked in formations even down the country roads and stuff, the americans came out of the trees shoot a bit then ran back for cover, basic hit-and-run i guess that americans laid the foundations for drive-bys

A democrat is someone who would be a republican if he had the money
A blond can be bad at history and great on dates
A golfer yells"FORE", takes five, and writes down three
A brassiere is a device to bring out a girls best points
A husband is a man who gave up priveleges he never knew he had
Bad Sex is an oxymoron
if any of these made you laugh, grin, smile, or any happy expression read my comic

Ahahaha... Yeah.. That's good comedy for kids ^^
As for fighting in lines... Come on guys, you Yanks still did that all the way into your civil war! Yeah... No, if you want better reasons why the British withdrew from those American states that they did withdraw from, it would be the fact that they couldn't really afford to extend themselves much longer in that conflict. You have to remember that they still retained much of North America (Canada), plus they had to contend with much larger, better armed, more direct threats in the forms of France and Spain, not to mention the French and Spanish in North and South America at the time as well, and there were also other colonies to hold on to in places like India, and then there were the constant rebellions in Ireland... A lot of the English troops in North America were actually German mercenaries- that tells you how expensive the war was for them as well as how terribly overextended they were.
Ah well, it's just one of those things; because the USA is such a massive state now, people tend to look on the history of the conflict of the American war of independence as if it was a battle of equals but in reality it was more complicated and muddy... But I'd say that US has a lot to thank Spain and France for really.
