I'd hate to read this headline on the internet "English 'Furry Artist' goes on crazed killing spree after not getting nominated in every category for the Drunk Duck awards." :)

I automatically assume I'm not nominated. It makes me pleasantly surprised if I am! =D

Zaymac if history remembers me as a 'furry artist', then I will come back from the dead and open up an anthropomorphic can of whup ass!

But I also consider myself not nominated- all the better if I am, but there are many worthy ones out there. :)

I've been thinking about this (albeit briefly, I have a very short attention span when it comes to such matters)... but isn't the best reward you can get out of this web comics lark the satisfaction you gain from launching a piece of art or two off into the ether and to feel the release of the energy that caused that piece to be born in the first place?

You could look at it that way. But as I see it, the awards are an unexpected bonus rather than a cheapening. They provide feedback, exposure to nominated comics (as as the webcomic community in general) and help refuel the desire/energy that we invest back into our comics...


...and need I mention the whole shebang is actually FUN?

As I'm relatively certain I've been in this timezone for longer than YOU have, I'm going to claim that my opinion on this matter is more valid...

Ok so maybe I'm just a cynical old bastard! To me there is no fun which compares to the physical act of drawing comics! Even as we speak I'm adding black ink to a previously stark white page and Slackman is spewing forth from my mind where's he's been tormenting my soul these last few days... the little bastard is determined to get me into trouble!

I think ya got a better shot than me at the very least. I got nominated for one category last year which was one of the first categories to get dropped this year.

oooh Im all excited too! I hope some of the comics I voted for get in, Im more excited about the actual comic pages that go with this, I like seeing the different artists draw the ceremony and draw characters from other comics. yay this is fun :P

I didn't get any nominations last year or the year before that so I'm not expecting anything plus I haven't updated much lately anyway so my chances are even lower.

Are the results going to be posted at midnight? Or later in the day...?
