How do I upload a thumbnail without the quality being destroyed?

It seems every time I upload a thumbnail the quality messes up. I can't really describe it. Just take a look.

Messed up Thumbnail--> <--Original

Why does it do that and how can I fix it?

That's because thumbs are jpg, which uses a different compression method to the PNG of your original.

It doesn't really matter because most people won't even notice at all. But you could try saving it as a good quality JPG and see if that works when it's uploaded. :)

Saving and uploading the thumbnail as a 100x80 pixels JPG with a quality value of 60 or above (when you save a JPG in most professional image editors, you get the option of choosing the image quality on a value from 1 to 100) should result in a thumbnail that doesn't get disorted much when uploaded. Or at least I think so.

EDIT:It lowered the quality again when I upload the JPG. Oh well I guess there nothing I can do.
