If I'm not mistaken since I am pretty much a newbie too, you have to enable the homepage. Every time you fav someone it will automatically be added. You enable your homepage under "My Controls". Hope I helped.

You have to click the "reccommend" box in the manage favorites section first. But the rest is exactly right. :D
