Some others on mine.

Underbelly.

Originally it was going to be called "fighting the good fight" when it spiralled from being short story I used that s the first chapter title. I was listening to the song underbelly by PWEI so there it is. It has almost nothing to do with the story but the lyrics have sort of end of the world vibe to them.

Take a glimpse of the world
As your vision unfurls
In the words of Monty Burns
"Hello Cruel World"
This is a place
Once said was great
But make no mistake
It`s only fear and hate
That makes the wheels go round
The Trapdoor Sound
That you hear as you hang
As it all goes bang

Life loves a winner
Join the losers and the sinners
In.... The Underbelly Town

The Underbelly Town. (x2)

I can see the faces
Souls of non-sinners
Made unclean
By the rolling of the machine
I see the pressure
>From the pages of the TV
They're out to get you
Out to get me.

Fear shakes the hand of the man
As he does what he can
It`s the 90`s for the family plan
And the woman is led
By the crap she`s fed
Convinced by the mirror
That her figure`s getting bigger

The Underbelly Town (x2)
Down, yeah
The Underbelly Town

This stuff is never enough... (x3)
Enough, enough, enough
Is never enough

The Underbelly Town (x2)
Down, yeah
The Underbelly Town

This stuff is never enough... (x3)
Enough, enough, enough
Is never enough

I summed up the plot in 5 words.

Bam.

I spent forever coming up with the right title. My comic's sorta mystery...ish... superhero, so I couldn't really come up with a title that has anything to do with the plot... because it would give too much away.

It's sort of an ensemble style cast so I couldn't use any one person's name.

So I tried to find a word that would sort of invoke the feeling of the story and was a bit mysterious itself. I have scraps of paper with random words on it all over the place. Failed attempts.

But prodigium seemed to work best. And hey! It's Latin! So I sound smart!

Definition: We get the English word 'prodigy' from the Latin word prodigium. For the Romans, a prodigium was a sign about the future that came from the gods. Prodigium tended to mean that a calamity was about to happen as the result of the anger of one of the gods. To avert disaster, the Romans made sacrifices or did other acts to propitiate the appropriate god. Particular ominous prodigies required consultation with the Sibylline books or the oracle at Delphi.

Super Harem just seemed obvious but I did also consider Bukkake Man.

Funny thing with my strip is that when I first created it, I was only seven years old. I originally wanted to call him 'Smarty Smith' as I originally intended him to be a clever, cunning individual. But my grasp on spelling was poor and a simple spelling error created the name that I liked the sound of and stuck with it; SMORTY Smith.
Later I changed his last name to Smythe just to balance his last name to his first with 6 letters.

Originally I just intended to to call it 'Smorty Smythe' or 'The Adventures of Smorty Smythe' and he was to be a worldly globe-trotter like Indiana Jones.
But I decided to make him a Martial Artist rather than just a brawler and Kung Fu movie titles like 'Fists of Fury' and 'Enter the Dragon' inspired me to flesh out the title as it stands today; 'The Dragon Fists of Smorty Smythe.' :)

A Loonatic's Tale: It's a tale. About a bunch of lunatics.

I also can't spell well.

Crossbones: Wanted to stay away from a typical "The Great War" sorta title. Troy always had a crossbones belt when I designed him (because he thinks it makes him cool), and the skull and crossbones is a sign of warning or danger.

Couldn't really tell you where the name, 'Skelwarp,' came from. It was just a nonsense word that popped out of nowhere on a long, long drive from the family home in Shoeburyness to a comic event in Birmingham. I was monging out in the back of the car, windows open, breeze in my Valhallan locks, and the word just sort of birthed itself over the two-three hour ride.

The, '& Sons,' though, that's different -- I was mainly inspired by an old comedy programme called, 'Steptoe & Son.' During its first incarnation, Martin Skelwarp had two sons, Noel and Billy. Billy got dropped during rewrites but, '& Son,' looked incomplete, so I decided to tie the reason for the plural into the agency's past.

Well it's called Nectar of the Gods...
Well, it's about bartenders, liquor and junk, so i just thought of what the ancients used to call things like wine and mead, and that's what i came up with, ta-dah!!

The liquid creations of Gods passed down to man, but sometimes an object of the gods' realm can cause chaos in the mortal realm.
Read Nectar of the Gods!

While reading about Troma films, it finally dawned on me what lead to the title. [en.wikipedia.org] I remember seeing this at the same business where I found Troll 2, but I thought nothing of it at the time.

Something about those cheesy 80's grindhouse/horror/campy films that were so low-budget, that it was funny.

And so, the ZombieToons name finally came. The ZT bit's just a carry-over edit from the original comic I was doing (originally ZombieTown).

As for Keeping Up with Thursday, it's actually a plot point that won't come into later. Much later. For now, I'm gonna be tossing out red herrings like they was goin' outta style. :B

I didn't have a name for my story (before I started doing the actual comic) for the longest time.

My mom, best friend and I had just left the pet store where I bought a conure. I named her Emerald.
For some reason, we started talking about my story during the drive home, and I mentioned that I still haven't thought of a name. Mom was like, "how about Emerald Veil?" And I was like: "...OMG! Crimson Veil! It's perfect!"

Seriously, it was that random.
But the name works because it refers to the power that's affecting the moon in my story. I don't wanna spoil it 'cause it's gonna be revealed in later chapters.
