Hey kids, just curious
do you draw with a state-of-the-art wacom tablet, a pencil and scanner, or just a regular mouse?
and...do you think the end product would look that much better if you were using something better or talent is talent and it shows no matter what you're using?
Personally, I've been using a mouse to draw my comic and I don't really think it makes too big of a difference except that it takes me a lot longer to draw something with the mouse than if I'd just drawn it with a pen buuut what does the rest of the world think?

How badly does what you use to draw affect the end product?

I ink everything on the computer, but I used to draw stuff by hand before my scanner broke. I doubt anyone would be able to tell when I started drawing everything on the computer.

I think it all depends on what you're used to. I do all the inking and such old-school, and when I attempted to use a wacom it just threw me off and I found it too difficult to get some of the fine details I enjoy adding. But if I was more used to it, I'm sure I could emulate what I do with pen and paper.
I don't think any one is inherently better than the other; what matters is what you train yourself to use.

I still do all my lineart on paper and scan it in. Everything else is done on computer.
I tried doing the art on computer but it didnt look very good. I couldn't get all the details i wanted.
So far i like using classic pen and paper better. Especially now that it's summer and i tend to draw a lot while sitting outside.

My uncle has a tablet. He said I should use it. But I just love the feeling of drawing on paper first. It seems easier to me. Plus my scanner is pretty good too.
So yeah I dunno.

Well yeah, I use a combination of sharpies and microns (and pencil, of course). If I didn't have the microns, then the details of the faces in many panels would look ridiculous, cause sharpies bleed too much. Also if I didn't clean up and color my comic it would look less professional, so a tablet definitly helps with that.
