I've voted without being logged in to either DD or TWC before, and it registered the vote. Just FYI.

Yeah, you can vote, but the comic doesn't go up in ranks.

thank you - Im learning, if slowly.

I dont know though. Doing a webcomic is a real labour of love - but promoting a webcomic? that looks like a whole new skill I have to learn. Maybe. But id rather do a good comic than a popular one* - and I'm still trying to achieve that goal.

most of the time the comics that is on the top tens are funded by adverts around the web. so unless you wanna fork $200 buck a month to make people look at your comic, you'll probably have to do it the hard way. which is networking.

IMO i rather enjoy making my comic and talking with people who enjoy it, and not just people who drive by.

I've always seen hosting on multiple sites as kinda crass... I mean, when I go to a webcomic site that's got a comic on it that I've seen on another host I can't help but roll my eyes and wonder if the author's got some sort of attention-seeking personality disorder. I can understand it from a promoting point of view but it's just like taking advantage of a community to get your image out there without spending any time becoming part of it.

I think I'm probably too loyal to DD... but I wouldn't plan on posting my stuff anywhere else right now. I'd probably post it on my own website if I had one but I'd be hard pushed to put myself out on another webcomic host. I know it'd probably be good for me and my work if I posted on SmackJeeves (what with their reputation of devouring shonen-ai comics for breakfast) but I just couldn't be unfaithful to DD! ;A;

It's nice to have concentrated hits at one site. Some sites base their popularity due to hits. If you have more than one site the hits are spread about...

I seriously don't know if I'm getting any readers of TPCTH at Smackjeeves. They don't have a hit counter and I still haven't checked that one I installed...It's annoying to do the math to figure out hits per day...

You're right Mystic Hand, SmackJeeves is a boy-love site! I should just change my banner to a banner with two of my guy characters shirtless. Maybe fan girls might click on it more... >:)
