Would you believe that the popular anime, Hetalia Axis Powers was originally a Japanese webcomic?

What do you think of webcomics making themselves into the industry? Would something like that ever happen out side of Japan?

I believe in the USA unless you are part of DC or Marval, the way to get your stories into movies is through writing a novel (ex: The Lovely Bones, Push, Shrek..etc...).

That I did not know. That's pretty keen (I used to help a translator with that comic go go gadget regional knowledge!) and it makes you kind of wonder what the web comics industry is like in Japan. I'm curious if it's supplanting the Doujinshi market over there or if they work side by side.
Also on the novel part, that’s a bit subjective with the books you listed (Push, Lovely Bones excluded) I think "write a book" is a bit more accurate. Because Shrek is like a 32 page children’s picture book. I always find it funny that Hollywood is more than willing to grab books, comic books, etc and turn them into hardly recognizable film versions of themselves. Though I’m pretty sure Japan has that same problem with their live action Anime/Manga/Book conversions.
Personally, I'm waiting to see what they do to "Walter the Farting Dog" and "Wicked" on the big screen. I have fears and hopes.

That's not a weird thing in Korea.

Webcomic is more developed than print comic in Korea,I think
So there are movies from Webcomic but somehow,
they aren't sucessful.

The reason is because the webcomic already have really good storyline but the movie maker change them too much and ruin a good story.

This comic is the turn point for Korean webcomic as a high-quality comic.
Since then,The Korean webcomic escaped it's image as "Low-graded free comic".

One of the best horror comic I've seen.
But the movie is REALLY fucked up comic.
It's mainly because the movie don't have 2 really important main character.
The Grim and the detective Yang.It's probably because if they have that detective Yang in the movie,They have to make sequels.The grim is just a normal person with a power to kill a person by staring the person's eye.The grim's mission is to guide the death and the one who should die but haven't.The grim later die trying to send a ghost to the afterworld.Before he die,The grim passes his power to the detective Yang.so the detective become the grim.The problem is,He appear in almost every comic of him later like "Timing","Again" so they just deleted him in the movie.

That made the movie really bad.

They also tried to make his comic "26 year" as a movie
but it failed.They said it's because of lack of money
But the truth is different.

The story of "26 year" have based on a true tragety that happened in Korea.
Gwang Ju Massacre of Gwang Ju democrtical movement happened in 1980,(The comic was made in 2006).An army general have taken control of the Korea using his troops and deploy the martial law.Everyone stayed quiet because the were afraid but the people of Gwang ju protested.So the General send his paratroopers to 'control' them.The paratroopers start to beat up innocent people and few get killed.But the protest goes wilder until the paratrooper have fired their guns to the people.They get even more wilder that they steal the gun from the armory and attack the paratroopers.The paratroopers managed to kill the last resistence in the Province hall.That's how the tragedy ends.
The problem is,The dictador is still alive.Not just alive,he's still rich and powerful.Of course he's no longer our president but he didn' get punished.

The comic is the story of sons and daughters of the victem of the massacre try to assasinate the dictador.So it have really great action like snipering,gun fight,chase,Gangs and ect.

The real reason why the movie was stopped is because the dictador is still alive and I don't think you'll like to see the movie about someone trying to kill you.So he used his threads to stop the movie.What a pity.

And also,One of my translating comic "Pink Lady" is planned to be a TV drama.
I'll put the poster as soon as I find it.

That actor from the Idiot looks cute.

I wish there was more 2D animated movies based after novels. It feels like something gets lost in the conversion from comic to live action or 3D animated movie.

Oh yeah,
It was really huge.

The reason is because of "Korea".

They said that touching Japan's nipple have to do something about the recent conflicted island,DokDo.

Dokdo is obviously our land (Korea) because we have all the historical proof it's our land but Japan say that the island was abandoned(It was because of Japanese's pirate's constant attack)so the first one to claim it is the island.(But there's an archieve from 1905 that clearly saying it's our land.

They also talked about the scene when we(Korea) claims chinese letter is ours.
We'll never do that because our Korean letter is much easier than chinese letter.

A lot of scene have offended Korean so everyone started to protest when they heard the new it will be on Kid's TV.

The DC Inside,The leading Korean site of wormbrains,launched an attack to Japanese site,2ch and 2ch revenge and have few stupid war.

I'll actually write about that site at general discussion about their deadliness.
It was really big,That's for sure.They finally stopped it to broadcast it to the TV.
