E3 is like Christmas to me. Christmas in reverse. Each year in a condensed amount of time they show me so many things for a gamer to be excited about.... Then, I have to wait until I can have them.
This year's E3 is already bubbling with the promise of fun new things. Microsoft will be fully unveiling the Project Natal under its new name "Kinect", set to debut with a new model of the Xbox360 (which looks like a crazy PC casemod). Nintendo's ready to show us the 3DS, which we've only been able to speculate on since hearing about it a while ago. Also, they'll pull back the curtains on the Wii Zelda game we've only seen one piece of concept art for. Sony will presumably give us a look at the games that will support Playstation Move, including my personal favorite Little Big Planet 2, and maybe clue us in on their future plans for the PSP.
And so many games! Dead Rising 2, Metroid Other M, Crackdown 2, The Last Guardian, and more! Is there anything you're looking forward to?

I'm strictly a PC player, since I don't own any consoles. The only thing I was really looking forward to was Valve's appearance at E3, but now that they've canceled, the event is virtually dead to me.
In any case, I hope Nintendo actually puts some effort into their displays this year. I'll just be checking the highlights afterward though.

While Valve did cancel, they did say there's still a "surprise". I hope it's something good, since I was pretty stoked for Portal 2 info.
And ditto on Nintendo. They don't present very well at E3. And while last year wasn't as bad as the year before, I want this one to actually be good.

If Nintendo gives me even a breath of info on the new Zelda, they'll have officially grabbed my interest at E3.

Nice to hear that! Thanks for that bit, because I didn't get the full details on their whole cancel thing. I'm glad they're still going to unveil their surprise!

A lot of technology, but very little in the way of innovative or even interesting gameplay. If this E3 is any indication, we're in for a very dissapointing year. I see nothing that really jumps out at me as a "must have" title and a lot of derivitive crap that looks like it's made just to push new hardware.

Yeah, the one really weak part of Nintendo's presentation (if you don't count the Zelda technical difficulties) was that there wasn't really anything to offer as a truly new franchise. But they did present quite a few games that I'm interested in, even if they're not so original.
Zelda looks fun. The controls looked way off, though. I'm going to hold out hope that in the right living room environment and when the game is finished, its sword fighting will function as well as the swords in Wii Sports Resort.
I'm interested in the 3DS but more for the auxiliary functions, because I don't give a flying crap about the 3D. I'm curious about whether or not that little sliding pad will be any better than a PSP analog nub. It BETTER be, because it caused the D-pad to be moved to a less convenient spot.
I wish they would have shown more 3DS games. And given it a price. And presented more colors.

Yeah, I'm sort of scared about Zelda's controls.
On the other hand, what ended up TOTALLY grabbing me by the happy parts was Kid Icarus, and... and... OMGDONKEYKONG. New Donkey Kong? And it's a sidescroller? And it's from the guys that did Metroid Prime? Me likey breadsticks.

The Zelda controls look a lot better in the montage they showed afterward. We'll have to wait for some show-floor reactions, but it might have actually been interference. And while there wasn't any shocking new tech revealed that will change how we game forever, most of the games looked really top-notch and original.

You know, there really wasn't a lot in the Sony press conference to impress me. In fairness, I'm REALLY angry at Sony right now because my PS3 died last night, and their tech support hung up on me right at the stroke of 9:00 without warning because her shift was up. So for anything I saw in the conference today, I'd have to pay whatever the product costs, plus a $150 repair job to enjoy it.
As always, I was interested in Little Big Planet 2, but that was a given. Portal 2 was a pleasant surprise, but I'm definitely getting that one on PC.
I am not and will never be sold on 3D gaming. I've never seen anything in 3D for my entire life, and I never will for the rest of my life, so there's not even a temptation to game in 3D or even buy the equipment for it.
Also, am I the only person who isn't enthralled by Kevin Butler and his rousing speech? I recognize him as a good decision in Sony Marketing and easily the most charismatic person to hit the E3 stage, but he did little more than shill Coke and take a few jabs at the competition before leaving the stage and shilling Coke a little more.
For me, the biggest surprise was the PSP. It's doing fantastic in Japan, but it REALLY needs help in America, and I thought they'd either give us a new model or drop the prices on the criminally overpriced PSPgo. I kind of want the PSPgo, and was sure they'd drop the price. I think I just wait longer, especially since there is likely a PS3 repair in my future.

I'm really interested in the 3DS. It looks like it could go really, really badly. Like, horribly badly. But if it goes good, it could be great. I've long said that 3D is far better used in, say, gaming than in film, but only if it's done right. I love the idea of 3D that doesn't require glasses, but until I get my hands on one of these things for myself I don't think I'll be able to have an opinion on it.

I doubt it can go horribly wrong. Even if the whole 3d idea was a total bust, you can just turn it off and the 3DS is still better than the DSi.

That sounds a little pretentious. If you've never ever tried 3D gaming, how can you know that you hate it so much?
Or wait... are you saying that you don't have depth perception?
Those were my two cents.

Yeah, that's it. One of my eyes is blind, so I don't really have a choice. 3D will never be a selling point for me.

But you can turn off the 3D effects. The graphics are majorly improved on the original DS (I believe their somewhere between GameCube and Wii) and there's an accelerometer. Plus there have been some amazing titles confirmed.

Oh, I'm TOTALLY on board for the 3DS, though obviously not for its 3D capabilities. It has a lot going for it and already a very promising list of upcoming games. (personally, I hope that shutting off the 3D effect will gain me some battery savings)
It's the huge push for 3D on PS3 that I'm not really excited for. It was a whole portion of their presentation I simply didn't care about. Though I guess it's you guys who might have to worry... to take advantage of that you'll need to buy new TVs and those glasses.
