Hey guys. I was just drawing a picture of Eve from Misfit Assassins, and was just about done, when I realized I had no idea what to do for the background. What color scheme, what sort of "thing..."
I'm not very good with those sort of cool graphic-design elements.

So any ideas of what I should do for the background for this pic? (location, color scheme, pattern, etc., anything's cool!!)
Also since it's a work-in-progress, any crit on what's already there is welcome.

I imagine she's sitting on a swingset in a not too wellkept backyard maybe a playhouse in the background.

Whoa, that is amazing, girly!

First, I'd finish the creature behind her- make it extend diagonally to the right bottom corner. That'd balance it out a bit more. I'd also extend the negative space around her- not sure if you cropped it for ease of display, but she's kinda squished in there.

With pin-up type stuff like that, I usually just put a color around the character and fade it out to the edges. The drawing's so lovely that I wouldn't want anything to distract from it- i don't think a detailed background is necessary. I'm not sure what color I'd use, though- normally I'm really limited with my palette; color ain't my specialty! ;)

yo this pic turned out sweet! i picture it having like an abstract cartoony but creepy background of maybe a bedroom. the color theme might be pinks and purples like in this image:

but then again she does have that hair and all. anyways looking forward to what you choose to do.

as far as a background goes, is this just a pin-up? or part of the story? if its a pinup just do something like rose petals falling from the upper right hand corner or someshit.

You could do a simple color texture background, but one thing I have found about stuff like this is that it really REALLY helps to have the whole piece planned out. Treat it as a painting really! Sort of like in oil painting you wouldnt just jump and start rendering the vase or whatever, but everything would progress at the same rate and slowly build up.

But you probably already knew that, and I just got really excited!:)

interesting image! I like how its slightly posy but giving off loads of emotion like its a screenshot from the story :)
As for the BG, Id do something that fits the emotion! And maybe like a darker purple/blue colour, and detail around the edge to frame it, but plainer in the middle, maybe other mid-story refernces to fit the picture! Dont take my advice too seriously though, cos im seriously bad at drawing poster/pretty images! ^^;
