I read the Declaration of Independance, watch 1776 and have some barbecue.

Of course July 1-3 is Gettysburg and July 14th is Bastille Day.

As for the true birth of America, we had the quadricentennial of that last year.

June 17th. That's my day. It's the day when you're supposed to eat a hot dog, wave a flag and hold your kids hand all at the same time.

Fireworks. Pfh.. That's nothing. We celebrated June 17 2000 by throwing earthquakes around.
