Why does Hollywood believe all superheroes should wear black leather?
BTW, we already covered this movie HERE .

As much as I'm aware that Will Smith always takes roles that makes himself look good, I want to see this movie...
He does have a knack for picking them...

The trailer I saw at the theater seemed more convincing. It didn't show any scenes with the black leather getup. I was really hoping the whole thing would just be this guy with superhuman powers without playing into the superhero stereotypes. When you really think about it, if everybody already knows who he is, why does he need the outfit?
I'll probably still go see it. Will Smith has had a decent track record when it comes to his movies and roles.

isukunI have thought about it and realised that it's actually pretty understandable for a superhero to be costumed. It's not a genre I follow, but consider: you've got someone who is absolutely abnormal and is not like any other human being, who is completely bizarre is most ways. They wouldn't even relate to others normally or think about things the same way because so much of what is unthinkably impossible for normal people is routine for them. Being so godlike, why shouldn't, why wouldn't, they flaunt it?

Jebus, if I had miraculous powers, I don't think it'd be long before I was going about everywhere in a Spartan cape and a pair of silver boots. lol!
Personally, I think it's far more silly for someone with superpowers to just try and be an "ordinary Joe". A lot of that stuff about conventional dressing is about fitting in- to get a job, to get a mate, for protection and all the rest of the underlying reasons. Mr Superhero is outside that equation, he/she doesn't need to fit in to get any of that if they need it.

Yeah, but the difference here is that he doesn't choose it. It is forced on him by authority figures. The general population doesn't want to hold him in such high regard. The reason he wore such dumpy clothing before was because he didn't care what people thought. Wouldn't it make more sense if he's working for the cops to give him a uniform rather than a rubber suit?
