This movie fills me with sadness.
Obviously the guy has talent, but he blows it all on something so Matrix-derivative. That's the kind of stuff we would've gotten a kick out of four years ago.
Plus, it turns into a lesbian story? What's with that? It just seems so out of place after such a big fight scene.

It was a bit disappointing that the otherwise excellent animation was marred by the "Done to Death" Matrix parodies. As far as Master Chief being a woman is concerned, I'm just going to pretend that she's actually the girl from Dead or Alive.

Yes, Spartan 458 (Nicole) is the one who is actually in the movie. Note how she was never referred to as Master Chief, whose code is Spartan 117.

Well, I think it being Nicole made more sense... when a girl is aroused it is much more logical for something to short-circuit.
