In your long (or short) life of watching media, what has been the scene that basically makes you say: "that did not just happen", or "i can't believe this is going on", or "please tell me that someone is going to wake up and this will just be a dream". Pretty much along those lines. It can be from TV, Movies, anime, books, or whatever.
For me, it would have to be the last two episodes of the "Berserk" anime where,
Griffith somehow summons demons from hell, and in order to become one, he has to sacrifice his crew. Basically everyone dies; main characters and sub characters alike. In the end, the only ones remaining are Guts (the the main character) and Caska. The scene had everyone dying in terrible and horrific ways. Characters that you've grown to know and love for the last 20+ episodes are taken away in a instant. In the end, Griffith was ready to kill off everyone that trusted and loved him in order to get what he wanted.
So, anyone else got a scene like that. One that will probably stay with you for a long time?
P.S. Big shot out to Volte for making this spoiler code. I really wanted to make this thread, but didn't want to spoil a great series for anyone. Well done.

Yeah, the end of Watchmen and Volume 12 and 13 of Berserk are some of the greatest "Holy Crap" stuff in fiction.
Hmm...what else...
The ending the Death Note is fairly surprising I'd say.

In the middle of Boondock Saints where...
... where "Funny Man" Rocco smashes his fist on the table, inadvertantly making his pistol fire and thus splattering that cat all over the wall!
I watched that scene like 5 times over and over before continuing on with the movie. I just didn't see that coming at all... it was so out of left field that I couldn't believe what I just saw. Perhaps it's the single funniest movie scene since Blazing Saddles and the "fart scene".

When reading the ending of Watchmen
where that giant squid-like beast was placed and destroyed the city. I just didn't believe that was actually going to happen. But it did.. and I was stunned. Still great.
Also LOTS of scenes from Wild Things. Later on the movie, there are only just "OMG! I can't believe that just happened"-scenes. It was really full of suprises :)
And if there's one movie that should be in this topic than it would be Sixth Sense. I didn't see it comin AT ALL. The first time I watched it was a great experience.

Unfortunately, one of the curses of being a writer is that you usually know the way a story ends before you're halfway through. At least, that's the way it is for me. My brain is constantly working on the construction of the story. But, very-very rarely, there are still things that catch me by surprise; usually elements that have nothing to do with the outcome of the story itself, but are still "oh shit" moments.
There are only two that I can think of off the top of my head, and they're both thanks to the same creator:
Xander's eye.
and
Wash.

Yea, I finished that anime a while ago myself. If I had to add a scene, it'd have to be the flashback of what happened to the main character's sister. I was all like " dude, she's a liitle kid; this can't be shown on t.v., can it?"
