I think it is the best game ever created, because you can do almost anything in the game.
It is fun to just run around n buy clothes and junk. Do you like it too? post why or why not.

It was a good game, not the greatest.

Vice City was easily the best game in the series.

How can Vice City be better than San Andreas.

San andreas is BIGGER
it has WAAAAAAAAAY more customiztion
Gym
Girlfriends
Tons more realism.
and better graphics
plus you can swim, gamble money at casinos, skydive, and gang system is better.

Definitely not the best game ever. It has its moments, but I doubt I would even include it in my top ten.

"Ever" is such a strict word. I haven't played San Andreas, but I can pretty much guarantee there are at least a few games in existence that are better than it.

I liked watching my friend play it, but my favorite thing to do was steal helicopters and planes and fly around and crash into things.

Also messing with the cheat codes to make everyone a prostitute, or have floating cars. Those were so fun.

I didn't like clothes shopping because it took forever. Why does a shirt take so long to load up? :[

If san andreas went any further it wouldnt work on the ps2. it pushed the ps2 to its limit, and used almost every possible memory space.

Definatly not the best! I am personly a fan of the Top Down views of GTA 2. Although Vice City wasn't bad!

I still think the first GTA was the best, particularly the multiplayer mode. Unfortunately, the gameplay changed so much between the first two games and the three on the PS2 that the multiplayer simply wouldn't be as fun with the new format. You simply wouldn't get that, "Oh my God that car came outta nowhere!" feel with the current games. Plus nothing could be as nerve wracking as trying to run down your friend with the rocket launcher before his blind firing hit you from off screen. With the current games you'd always see it coming and the maps would be far too big for multiplayer. I also much preferred the scoring system in the first game which really promoted random violence against people. You could get mad cash from chasing people onto the third rail at the train stations (not to mention you could also jack the train and drive it into other trains).

If people haven't played the original, I highly recommend you download it (it's freely available here along with the second game and some other older Rockstar game), especially if you can convince some friends to play some network vs. with you.

GTA:SA is garbage. It has a miserable lead character that is nigh impossible to like (durr durr! I stay in da hood an shit for no reesin!), a miserable soundtrack (rap sucks, fact not opinion), and a rather boring set of towns that lack the personality of Vice City or the likeability of Liberty City.

Sure, it was bigger, but the plot was riddled with holes and bad dialogue (I'm pretty sure people didn't run around screaming fuck and nigger as every other word in the 90s). And the whole levelling up thing felt tacked on. So you can do fancy button mashing at the gym to get stronger. Big deal. Just like the enhanced melee combat system, this was underutilized.

No, GTA:SA is NOT the best game ever or even close to being great. You want to start talking best game ever, start looking at UT2K4, Vice City, or Okami.

Considering I was going to school in one of the worse parts of DC and the school was half kids from similar parts of the city, I can pretty definitively say that people did in fact talk like that. Hell, there are parts around here where they still do.

im not really into grand theft auto of any kind but its not the best game ever. its decent for its genre and for people who ilke those types of games. i personally dont like it. its not something that interests me but when it comes down to the technicalities and graphics of the game, yeah, it has some pretty good graphics and its customablity is quiet good. but like every other game it has its problems. even the prettiest or best games have their problems. i live by the kingdom hearts series but yeah, i know it has its problems ^_^;

I still stand by saying that Vice City is the better game. Vice City also has a more flexible engine, which allows modders to add more content to the game. To say, a latest mod, GTA: State of Liberty. Which aspires to combine Vice City, Liberty City, and San Andreas (along with some other smaller towns) into the Vice City engine.

The mod is still in beta and there are alot of problems to be fixed (no peds, cars on the streets, some areas have low textures, etc.) It's still amazing how a group of people managed to bring together all the games (...even the entire state of San Andreas) into one game. Thus proving that Vice City is the better game in both story and gameplay.

I prefer Vice City simply for the 80's feel. Plus, I love it when it feels like an episode of Miami Vice.

Not to sound like a dick, but the dialog sounded like a bunch of white guys sat down, watched Boyz N' the Hood, and took it from there. Even some of the minor characters looked like people from the movie. Other than that, I thought the game was hot. The Hot coffee mod would've been fun for consoles imo.

Great game, but not the greatest.

The whole point of GTA3 and the games that followed it was to parody different subgenres of gangster movies. The whole point of San Andreas was to play off of movies like that.

Each of the people you take jobs from in the previous games is a parody of some movie cliche. You get a lot of Italian mobsters in the first game with a few Yakuza stereotypes thrown in (although they seem more cartoon inspired to me, but I guess Hollywood has never really had a good idea of how the Yakuza work, either). Vice City tries to throw in some elements of the Miami underground with some more stereotypical Hispanic gangsters except for Ken Rosenberg who is the typical Jewish lawyer/accountant type from like half of the movies from the 70's. References are different from character to character. Even San Andreas was drawing from several different movies, not just one.

It was a good game, not the greatest.

Vice City was easily the best game in the series.

Quoted for truth.

San andreas is the worst one for Playstation 2.

GTA 3- Funny ending, and New York is awesome.

Vice City- Best characters in the series. Especially the ass kicker that is Tommy Vercetti. And the ending is awesome. I don't see why people say it was like scarface though. You shoot people from the top of a staircase in a mansion that looks somewhat like Scarface's, that's it. Even then, people are trying to steal your money, and in Scarface, they just wanted him dead. Also he actually leaves to the top of a rooftop to kill (I'll say it backwards because it's a spoiler) ecnav ecnal.
Oh and let's not forget the awesome music (SLAYER AND MEGADETH FUCKING RULE!!!)

GTA SA- While I do like the fact that there are more features, I don't like the ghetto theme or the sucky ending (which wasn't an ending as much as it was a gay orgy.) And let's not forget the cliched "u kiled mi mom i get revenge on u lol" plot.
I like the fact that it had James Woods acting as Mike Toreno who was awesome.

Other than the first two GTAs and GTA advance, I haven't played any others.

GTA 3 had had some parodies of Goodfellas and Godfather. Vice parodied Miami Vice and Scarface.

San Andreas from what I remember parodied Pulp Fiction and Godfather.

I KNOW that isn't true. Oblivion is the kind of game you either love or you hate. A lot of people, myself included, find it to be boring as sin.
